Girls on budgets???

I was hoping to set aside $0 for tips, since everyone is already charging up the A@$ for everything, but I guess that's not a good plan

I honestly haven't given this much thought - we're going to tip the people that deserve it and do an awesome job that day, but not go crazy w/ the amount of tipping because we are on a tight budget. We're going to talk this through this weekend, so we'll see!

Me too. Specially for the matre d, we are paying the venue 20% in tips, to my thats more than enough.

right now about 2k in tips. i think that's so much

Just an FYI, that 20% gratiuty you girls pay, is not a tip for anyone, that pays the salary of the waitstaff. I think it's a little ridiculous to give the matre d what they tell you (usually $3-5 a person) so that's up to you but if you give NOTHING, then the matre d gets nothing...completely up to you girls but just wanted to let you know that that 20% is not a tip, it's actually going towards people's salaries for the night.

Dont get me wrong about not wanting to tip at all. I have a party of about 90 guest, so the most they will get out of me if $150.00 (for the matre d)

I am going to be hoenst chicas...

I am really opn budget now.. my effin job isnt paying me enough (i aint getting any ot now so i am getting trust me less than $375 a wk)...

So my Tips for verndors will be around $100 per vendor...

I am however planning on giving WAY more to Whoever goes ABOVE & BEYOND...


I am SO SORRY BUT I AM ALREADY PAYING WAYYY TOO MUCH FOR THIS WEDDING!

My poor FH works 6days a week 10-12hrw per day!...
So I cannt be giving $300-400 EACH vendor...

ITA... I will give around that too Catalina.. SORRY i aint got tons of money...

I dont have a CASH TREE in the backwayrd to give $500 to the MD besides HE DOES GETS PAID..
THEY ALL GET PAID... (around $10hr)
The tip we provide is A TIP... It's Extra....

I think if they give you a great service then GIVE them what they deserve... if not, then... they will not get much i gues..

I was thinking of $1500, but maybe I need more like $2000. We are actually working mainly with owners. Our MC, Main Photog and main Videog are all the owners, as is my hair dresser, but I still plan to tip them and then other people on their staff.

A lot of our vendors are the owners... but I think I will still tip them if it is awesome. The main photographer is hurt so she is sending a third. So i have an extra one to tip. With photo i might even tip more after i see the outcome you know? She is awesome so she deserves it I am sure. I am guessing around 1500-2000 in tips that day!

My wedding is on the small side (100 min) so I think having 1500 available for tips is very generous. I don't plan on using it all if people don't perform as well as they should or don't go above and beyond. The wedding industry jacks up the ish out of everything, the last thing I'm going to do is tip people who are lazy or don't deliver!

This is a great question....which brings up another one.... How much should each vendor typically be tipped??? Im kind of clueless about this stuff, I didnt even budget for tipping.
