Right now it is over $2k, but I think we will probably have $2500 just to be safe

Altar servers $20 ($10 each)
Babysitter $30
Band $200 (9 pc band)
BA $150
Ceremony musicians $25 each = $75
Florist $50
H& MU $25 each = $50 (own their own biz, but want to give them something)
MD $400 (175 ppl - I know we are supposed to give more, but it's what we can afford right now)
Photog + assistant $200
Videographer =+ assistant $100 (owns his own biz)
RH Staff (20 waiters, 4 bartenders?, 5 valets? bathroom attendants) $800
BM? $200

It adds up quickly!!!

My wedding is on the small side (100 min) so I think having 1500 available for tips is very generous. I don't plan on using it all if people don't perform as well as they should or don't go above and beyond. The wedding industry jacks up the ish out of everything, the last thing I'm going to do is tip people who are lazy or don't deliver!

ITA!!!! The wedding industry is already charging us all an arm and a leg so why do we need to increase their pockets even more. I'll prolly set aside maybe $1500 in tips but thats on the high side. I dont mind paying my salon and makeup artist for their work and the bartender because i know he will be working hard that day..but some of the other vendors...i'll have to see how much i pay them..

I honestly have no desire to tip... for example, our dj is charging us $300 more just because its a wedding... I'm kinda considering the extra 300 his tip.

SO tired of people charging more because the word wedding is attached to it!

Thank you so much for this. I was over tipping. I thought when they said you had to tip the MD 3-5, I thought it was mandatory. They also told me that I had to tip the bridal attendant $2-4 per guest. Now I thought that was insane.
