Girls that are already married...guest question

Girls that are already married...guest question

I invited all of my coworkers who work out of our LI office, and they are all coming. 7 coworkers all with their significant other. One of which was married over the summer, and he did not invite me to his wedding, and as far as I'm aware, he didn't invite anyone from the office. I didn't give him a gift, and we didn't really do anything at the office for him, and at that point, I wasn't sure I was inviting my coworkers either.

So he came up to me today and asked me if I would like him to bring my gift to the office tomorrow for my last day, bring it at the wedding, or bring it after the wedding to the office the Monday I come back. I was a little put on the spot and uncomfortable that he asked me that, so I just said I didn't mind, thank you, and whatever was easier for him. So he mumbled something about he'll just bring it 'whenever' and then made a comment about how I'm getting a lunch and days off and he got married AND got a house and no one did anything for him.

Should I just accept whatever this is graciously with a smile and leave it alone, or give a very belated gift to him as well, even though I wasn't invited to his wedding, but he made a comment?

It wasn't very nice of him to put you on the spot like that. When / if he does give you the present, just thank him and say how you really appreciate his thoughtfulness. If he got married w/in the last year, you should be able to still find a registry of his online somewhere, and maybe you can pick out something under $25 that's left and just have it sent to him and his wife and it'll be done with. Don't feel obligated though. The brides always get treated better than the grooms when it comes to office celebrations. That's not your fault, none of it is -- and you shouldn't feel like he's blaming you.

Ugh, people sometimes... can't they just keep their mouths shut? Why people have to go out of their way to make others feel bad is beyond me...

hmmm..he sounds jealous to me!!!!!

i would just say thanks for the gift etc etc and leave it be

he has to realize 2 things

1.he is the groom, not the bride so in a office more people r going to give more attention to a girl getting married than a guy,sad to say but true..sometimes the guy gets a office shower which is awesome but he cant get mad at a brid getting some office loving

2.he didnt invite anyone to the wedding...why would he expect so much from thee people..now im not saying he had to invite..maybe he couldnt..but dont hate cause ur co workers are giving you stuff etc

and 3rd..maybe they just like u better

This past July...I don't think he meant it maliciously, but it was still a little strange to say. If you're annoyed that no one did anything, then maybe you should have invited us, huh?

graciously accept gift. dont get him a gift now. that would look odd because you didnt get one when he got married. but why would you?? you werent invited.

and honestly... this is HIS issue...not yours. i think its different when its the guy versus the girl. did he talk about the planning process? was he as involved with his wedding as much as you were with yours? u kwim??

if he wanted days off for his wedding he could have taken them. did you use your days? im confused about that part.

he should sulk quietly in the corner.

oh and i hate when people ask things like that. its a very on the spot and awkward question. ugh!! u did the right thing.

Oh that stinks for him...I think men get the short end of the stick when it comes to weddings....DHs office threw him a nice Man Shower and he was beaming!!!

I guess I would give him a house warming gift or gift card....I feel bad for him...I don't think he should have been mean to you about it but I do feel bad for him!
