Girls that are having ceremony at church

Original post by Gracie821

What time is your ceremony and what time is your cocktail hour? Are you just doing a service or full mass? Will you make it to your cocktail hour? Sorry so many questions! TIA!

My service is 11 and my cocktail hour is 1. I'm going to have to move my a ss! We're not having a full mass, fh is not really religious. I really hope to make it to my cocktail hour, at least part of it. We're not taking that many church pictures.

I have having the same except full mass.
RH is 25 min away from the church
cocktail hour 1 1/2h so hopefully we will make it

I am having a full mass. I scheduled it for 4:00 but might move it to 3:00. My cocktail hour starts at 7 so I am going to do all my pictures before it starts. I don't want to miss one second of the party.

My ceremony starts at 3, and it's a full ceremony...at least an hour, possibly over an hour. It's Greek Orthodox, so there's no choice of ceremony vs. mass, it's just one long ceremony lol.

CH starts at 7:30, so we should be OK to make it. I'm figuring we'll probably leave church by 5 after ceremony, receiving line, pictures, and it's a good 45 minutes to Villa, so we should have enough time to settle in and take pics barring lateness or traffic or accidents or inclement weather.

we have to have a full mass- both sets of parents very religious... our church is at 1pm and the CH is at 4pm. we figured that the church is approx 45mins (so that brings us to 1:45) then the receiving is about another 45mins (2:30) and then we want to take pictures and not miss a second of the CH... we also want pics with ALL of our families and friends so that will take some time too...

Ceremony at 3. Full mass so I think it will be a little over an hour. Then cocktail hour at 7. We should be there on time.

We are doing a full mass, ceremony starts at 5:30pm in Bay Shore and CH starts at 7:30pm in Carle Place, it's a Saturday so we wanted everything to start a little later.

Ceremony starts at 3 and CH is from 7:30 to 9 then 4 hour reception until 1 am. Our wedding is a Friday so we wanted a later reception start time. I really just want the service.. but his parents and my pain in the butt grandmother want the mass which I think is unnecessary for a Fri wedding.. and it's not like we are sunday churchgoers either.... His father is a deacon and will be marrying us.

PS- not going to my CH.. i will be in the building.. there are 4 bridal suites in my RH.. so I will be having a nice private party with only our closest family members and bridal party only. i call it the calm before the storm. I look forward to that part of the evening.. and this was one reason why I booked the royalton... I wanted space enough to relax with those that matter most and have our own private party beforehand.

ceremony is at 3pm
cocktail hour starts @ 6:30pm
we will make as long as the weather is good
my photographer said not a problem if we want to go we can
i think i rather take that time alone with FH have someone bring us something and just chill before out big entrance

We are having a full mass that begins at 2:30pm. Our cocktail hour begins at 6pm the church is about 20 min from the RH. We plan to go to our CH.

Re: Girls that are having ceremony at church

Sadly

Ceremony 2:30 not a mass
Cocktail Hour 7:00
Reception: 8:00

We are doing pics in between because we will have plenty of time. FMIL is throwing a little in between gathering at the hotel and my parents are having people back to our house in between.

We will still have to do a few photos at the RH because we are making a grand entrance so we probably won't have time there before. So I assume we will be at most but not all of our cocktail hour. Sunset on August 8 is at 7:50pm, so it will be setting as our guests go into the ballroom, so I plan on doing some on the water pics at Lands End then too.

Re: Girls that are having ceremony at church

my ceremony at church begins at 1:00! we arent sure if we are doing full mass yet! we said only ceremony, but dad keeps bugging me about this full mass deal so i might just tell the priest to change it to full mass (witch will be another 30 minutes on top, so maybe its a full 45 minutes i think!).. than my cocktail begins at 7-8 and the reception will be from 8 till 1:00 a.m! :) i will definately not attend my cocktail hour! i know that might be a big mistake that ill make and regret it prolly, but i definately dont want to do it! i want to do the grand entrance into the reception room and do not want anyone to see me till than! :) i guess ill see my cocktail hour in pictures and videos than! its jjust a shame that we are spending all this money on all this food and we are going to be having amazing stations with amazing ice carving sculptures and amazing fruit sculptures and i wont get to see them in person, but oh well my bm's will take pics and come back up to the bridal suite and show me! :) haha!

When you told people this did you get faces? And questions of shock? I have the same idea you do and my mother and others were just surprised and thought it was crazy! I guess bc everyone says that's the best part of the wedding... but I will still be partying it up.. just upstairs with my closest! And great ideas with sending down the BM's for pics! I'm totally stealing that!
