Do you find it difficult to get to your wedding vendors/appointments etc if FH is not available, or anywhere in that case??

Re: Girls that dont drive........
YES!! lol.. FH had to take his truck off the road.. and his truck was my truck so i have no car..lol. So what we've been doing is taking the LIRR to my cousins house and then she drives us from there(or would give me the car and me or FH would drive). My MOH was still studying for the Bar exam when i was booking most of my vendors..so she couldnt take us although she was willing..and most of our appts. were at like 5:30 and i couldn't ask my BMs to take off of work early that often. It def. made it a little less enjoyable because the hype of booking slowly faded when i had to get back on the train...lolol.

you can still learn how to drive. I love driving and it does make things alot easier. Fh has been able to go to all vendors except when i had a videography appointment and i had already rescheduled it twice so i finally went without him. But just in general though. Even when i go out with others i prefer to do the driving

I have a license but dont drive. FH used to let me drive his car if he continued to let me drive I would still be driving now. I really dont mind taking the bus or train everywhere, Im so used to it , and so used to FH taking me everywhere. I think I may take some lessons to refresh my memory, also a lil nervous to get behind the wheel. NY'ers drive like manics, I will do just fine driving at a speed of 5

its good though, you never know...some appointments i got out of late and it can be annoying to take the train at that time from suffolk...You can take some lessons to get more comfortable. Its all about consistency, if you drive enough the more comfortable you'll get.

I'm taking lessons right now and I'm 32! If I can get my license anyone can. Pray for me b/c I'll be taking my road test in a couple of months and I REALLY need to pass!!!

Re: Girls that dont drive........
OH man FH used to use the excuse of liveing in Queens for not having a license. After five years (1 year inwhich we were engaged) I told him he had to get is @$$ behind the wheel and take some lessons. It got so annoying driving from mid suffolk to the queens/nassau border just to spend time with him after he got out of work. Then I'd hear him complain he was tired... hello! You just took the bus, I drove in the traffic I don't want to hear it!!! I think the last straw was when he started asking me to drive to bayside to pick him up from work.... I told him I couldn't deal anymore.. he had to get a license like an adult or the wedding was off because I was so unhappy. That's right, I gave him an ultimatum. Two months later he had a license and a car on the road.

If you already have your license, then you don't have to take any tests. You just need to practice if you don't feel comfortable.

Re: Girls that dont drive........
i drive but don't have a car - FH does, he lives in LI and I live in queens. Two of the major vendors (DJ and Photog) I met with were in the city near work so that made it easier; otherwise we go together or he'll let me borrow his car (like I'm not dragging him to the florist when i go). I love to drive but have no spot for a car in queens, so i'll just wait until we have a house.

Re: Girls that dont drive........
i drive and have a car but since all my vendors are in LI and I live in SI, I am very uneasy about highways so I make FH come pick me up and drive. Besides I hate driving for too long.

Yes acutally we have problems planning so that both of us (since FH is involved in the planning) can go at the time that we need to go.
I have a license but I haven't driven in sooo long that I need a refresher course.. just not enough time to do it atm.

Re: Girls that dont drive........
i got my license when I was 18 after taking driving class....and have barely driven since. I lived in Manhattan, so i never needed to...and then when I moved to Boston, again, I never needed to. So i just flat out forgot. I've driven locally here and there, but even that makes me so nervous. And i am so petrified of merging onto the highway.
yeah...Fh has to drive us out to LI for vendor visits...i usually have to plan everything for one day and get it over with all at once.
