Girls that dont drive........

Original post by AS

Do you find it difficult to get to your wedding vendors/appointments etc if FH is not available, or anywhere in that case??

Argh I hate not being able to drive, esp. now that I'm moving to the boon docks. Even when I move to Cali after FI and I get married, I am going to need to learn how to drive. I'm glad I'm studying the PA Driver's Manual.

I am also glad that Jereather are willing to help me though this too. I mean, getting to CLM wasn't that hard, but I Wedding World would have been super difficult.

Re: Girls that dont drive........

i only got my license maybe 3 or 4 yrs ago because FH insisted. living in bklyn by whole life i never needed a car - and of course him coming from LI, always had one. he gets tired of driving me places (almost 9 years!)... and honestly i would like to get more practice, but his car is stick. he's taught me how, i've done some driving on it, but am not comfortable AT ALL and am scared of messing it up somehow. he relies on that car to drive home every weekend from boston to see me, and i would feel HORRIBLE if god forbid something happened.

we've made most of our appointments for weekends, and he's been decent about going... but sometimes he'll sit out in the car - or fall asleep like he did at flower michele LOL.

it's a pain though, especially with trying to set up make up and hair trials - during the week - and obviously i don't want him taking me.

thank god I'm not the only one. thats why If I make an appointment I try to make appointments with all vendors in that area, make it an all day thing so that I don't have to do it again any time soon. Thats why I love JT you've got flowers by brian, Flower Michele, Starlight express and a ton of other vendors right along that strip...you can check up on your hall and your vendors all in one shot.

I feel like I can't live without my car. I have been driving to LI every weekend since FH and I were together, which is almost 4 1/2 years. All my vendors are out in LI and they are spread out. I can imagine how frustrated you girls must be and how hard it is for you to see all your vendors.

I don't drive b/cuzzz I dont' have a car..but I live in Manhattan so that's prob why too. But I agree doing all the booking and appointments is 10X harder when you don't have a car b/c I'm still completely dreading how I'm going to a place and get my girls to try on bm dresses. FH is too busy with work. So even my FFIL had to drive me to get MY dress (he even made my appt so that was nice=) so I totally know what you mean!!!

Hmmm maybe i should make extra money on the side by giving driving lessons *ponders* fh always jokes around and calls me defensive driving denise bc i always criticize everyones driving and point out mistakes they make ... until you get over the fear its hard bc you wont be aggressive and not saying youhave to drive like a maniac but you have to be aggressive at times especially when driving on the highway. I guess the fact that i started young helped out alot, you have less fear then. And once i learned i CONSTANTLY drove, i still love it and dont mind driving long distance or driving in the city, which alot of ppl who drive avoid the city. I always argue with Fh about who is a better drive and who can pull better moves lol, but at least i can say im way better with a truck-fh is not used to trucks lol and i had to even tell him the easiest way to park one
