What is a good area of the island to stay in?

We're staying in Kanapali.

We LOVED Wailea....Lahaina was too busy for us; I had gone with my friends to Kaanapali in 96. Wailea was just so calm, laid back, and it was just PARADISE! We stayed at the Four Seasons (right between the Grand Wailea and the Kea Lani).

We stayed in Kaanapali. Make sure you do a sunrise trip up Haleakala Mountain... then bike down it! It was awesome! Also, highly recommend getting the book: Maui Revealed... it was like our bible when we were there! FM me if you need any more info!

We stayed at the ritz but Kapallini is better more alive. the ritz is all by it's self

We are staying in Kanapalli. I think it was rated one of the best beaches in the world by Yahoo Travel.

I've stayed in Wailea and Kihei. I liked that part of the Island best, it never rained or got cloudy.

Thanks girls! We decided to go with Wailea, it sounds like it might be a little more relaxed then Kanapalli, which is the vibe we're going for. I can't wait to go!
