Girls that have gone on cruises

Original post by Future Mrs H

Should I pre-book my excursions or wait till I am on my cruise? Or is it better to just get off the ship and tour myself?
As you can see I have never been on a cruise.

I always pre-book the excursions that I really want to do, but I don't book excursions at every island.

For instance, when FH and I went to Bermuda, we didn't book an excursion, we just wandered and went to the beach and shopped... in Tortola we booked a jeep tour in advance and it was sold out by the time the cruise rolled around... and in St. Thomas we booked an excursion for earlier in the day and then took a cab to a beach we wanted to go to and met up with people at the beach who were on the pre-planned beach excursion they offered through the cruise.

St. Thomas is exactly the place where we paid $5 for snorkeling while everyone else paid $35. I'd recommend not pre-booking something for that island. Here's some pics from our snorkeling adventure!

Here you can see us feeding the fishes! They ate Milkbones, yes Milkbones, right out of our hands.

I would definately look at the excursion that they are offering before hand. I loved doing the excursions because I'm more of the planned typed of person instead of going out and just wondering.
