Re: Girls that live in apartment buildings...
good question but im not sure...we definitely have to give our super a good tip bc he has been so helpful with alot of things, i think last year my mom gave him about $200. The maintenance guy who cleans all the time is so great too, the guy is there so early in the morning around 7am and he always cleans everything and stays everyday until about 5pm so definitely have to tip him something

Re: Girls that live in apartment buildings...
We have a list of about 9 people....
I'd LOVE to give $50 to each, but honestly it's really tough right now.
Is it bad to give gifts (homemade cookies, bottles of wine, etc.)? Is that really tacky?

My parents always tip the mailman, garbage people, UPS guy and the newspaper deliverer like $50 each

It's not bad to give them. I mean they prefer cash. Can you give them a few bucks in cash and a gift like a bottle?

I think $20-$25 is sufficient. I mean give what you can afford.

I might as well just give them each $50 if I'm getting them a nice bottle of wine too.
the holidays are a killer on the wallet!

So true. They always remember who gave something and who gave nothing.

Re: Girls that live in apartment buildings...
they'll appreciate things, $20-25 is fine...i mean them getting $20-25 from alot of ppl in the building really adds up
and instead of doing $20-25 with a bottle of wine, do the cookies thing instead

Re: Girls that live in apartment buildings...
we actually have a list on the door guy's desk with everyone's names on it.... its a LONG list- lots of door guys and maintenece peoples,
my FH actually asked one a door man, you dont except us to acutally give 100 to each one right?! and he just made a face like well thats why we give you a list- you should give generously to the people you have a relationship with...
so we will have to takle that this weekend....more expenses- how grand

Re: Girls that live in apartment buildings...
We have 8 doormen and maintenance staff, and we give them 50 each
FH always cringes, but I have to say, they were all really sweet and grateful for their tips...
