when i got home from work yesterday i got a phone call from my employer telling me that my assignment is up and not to report to work on monday! i am totally shocked that this happened. especially right before the holidays!! girls, i need a job asap!! please help. i have bills to pay, christmas gifts to get and most important, a wedding to pay for! if any one of your jobs are hiring, please let me know! i need a job quick! this is just so terrible! i really don't know what to do and i'm scared!

OMG!! How cruel that they did this to you before the holdiays AND over the phone!! What jerk0ffs!! What field are you in? Maybe to get you thru the holidays, you can check out Bath and Body Works. They are always hiring holiday employees. To at least get you thru the season...

Try anywhere in the Mall .. Express, NY & Co. They would hire you right away if you went to school for fashion (just to get you through the holidays at least).

That's sooo unprofessional and uncouth of your employer to do that over the phone... you should be able to find a job asap... with the new year rolling around.. that would be the perfect opportunity to find something...
but I remember you posted something a few days ago about a co-worker ratting you out that you're planning your wedding at work?? and that you're on this site too much?? could be that that sparked your employer to that??

OMG, I am so sorry Jess, What a bunch of a holes to not even say it to your face! Give me a break. I hope all of the bosses have the worst holiday. If I hear of something, I'll let you know. In the meantime, what about going to a temp agency for temporary employment. They should place you right away. Here's some for you.

honestly, that's like th only time i EVER got in trouble!! really. and my job is just so laid back that they wouldn't be so anal as to let me go b/c of that one incident. i'm just like really pissed that they couldn't tell me to my face. i still have A LOT of stuff there!

have you been at your job for a long time?? you would think that they would have the decency to give you the courtesy... don't worry you'll find something.. and then this would be a blessing in disguise!
There are a lot of places looking to hire holiday help. I know this is just a temporary solution, not a lot of companies hire during this time of the year.
