Girls who already had their showers !!!!!

What was the best/most thoughtful gift you recieved???

I let my husband register for a palm sander at Target.

My grandmother thought it was for me & made me a TOOL APRON that said GIRL POWER on it & decorated a pair of protective goggles with little rosettes!!

A friend of mine gave me a cookbook that she had put together. It was a tradition in her family to start off the new couple with some homestyle recipes. I loved it!!!

It wasn't really the gift, it was what was written in my bridal shower autograph book.

My mom wrote that 'she couldn't believe that she was at my shower . She added a lot of sweet words. She also wrote that I added so much joy and lit up her life. I get teary eyed typing this in

one of the guests used a dishtowel, potholder, and some rubber bands and tied them into a pretty angel. She also gave me an egg beater, but the handle was an egg, with a face and feet. Also, she hand made all of the cards that she and her sisters gave me. She cut out different pieces of fabric and made them into dresses. All very pretty!

My mother's friend read me a poem for 'Love Match Pie' Then she gave me a Waterford bowl - In Ireland, giving a gift of crystal is supposed to be good luck.
It was all so sweet and really brought everyone in the shower together.

That's hysterical!!

Mine was a scrapbook my BM's put together. They had everyone create a page with a poem and pictures etc...and then put it together in this beautiful book...we spent some time looking at it at the shower and everyone was crying. It is the most special gift that I will have forever!

I got that too. It was a beautiful wicker picnic basket filled with silverware, dishes, glasses, cheese, olives, napkins, and a playing card game kit and a cutting board and knife and more. It was one of my favorite gifts because It wasn't on my registry and I wasn't expecting it. DH and I brought it on our honeymoon in hopes of having a picnic at the grand canyon, but it was only 30 degrees when we got there so we nixed the picnic idea!!!

one of my BM's got me a $100 gift certificate to maximus spa....that was pretty thoughtful b/c i have been really stressed out...

but probably the most thoughtful was one of my other BM's made us a family tree...she had called my mom & my FMIL to get all the info, then she made this beautiful family tree on the computer & framed it...some of the older family members at the shower were crying!!! it was really a nice thing for us to have as we start our lives together!

My best friend put together a basket full of all my engraved items, she got my toasting glasses, cake cutter set, garter, I cant remember what else but a whole bunch of stuff, wedding candle, It was beautiful the way she put it all together.

It was not a gift but a card. My 'new' niece took my avatar pic and made a card out of it for me. I thought that it was so wonderful that I passed it around the room for everyone to see.

I had a BUNCH:

My shower was a disney princess theme and each BM took a princess and gave me a gift based on that princess.

Sleeping Beauty: My Maid of Honor made me a quilt - it took her a Month.

Cinderella: My Matron of Honor put a 'Fairy Godmother' bag together - lots of goodies.

Jasmine: a Genie's Lamp and 3 wishes.

Ariel: A Date in a Bag - To the beach!

Mulan: 2 settings of China

Pocohontas: Self Tanner

Belle: a beautiful anniversary clock (like Gogsworth!)

Finally a friend of mine, not a BM, took white towels and rolled them up to look like tiers of a cake. It was a gorgeous centerpiece for the table, and I can't bear to dismantle it!

My mom took my grandmother's engagement ring diamond and the diamonds from her original wedding band and had them made into a necklace. It was so beautiful and thoughtful. I am wearing it for the wedding.

the best thing i got (besides my presents) was my shower! my 4 bridesmaid threw it for me, since my mom passed away 10 years ago. they did a great job! from the restaurant they chose to the centerpeices to the favors. i couldn't ask for more! that beats all the gifts that i got!
