I let my husband register for a palm sander at Target.
My grandmother thought it was for me & made me a TOOL APRON that said GIRL POWER on it & decorated a pair of protective goggles with little rosettes!!

My girlfriend, who got married last year, lent me her bag for my 'something borrowed' and she filled it up with all the 'emergency kit' stuff as well as a blue garter.

Finally a friend of mine, not a BM, took white towels and rolled them up to look like tiers of a cake. It was a gorgeous centerpiece for the table, and I can't bear to dismantle it!
That's too cute! You don't have to dismantle it! Put it somewhere special in your home for everyone to see! That's what I did with my angel dishtowel.

most thoughtful: a mailbox handpainted with beautiful flowers and our last name on it from my cousin.
Best (IMO): A five peice patio seating arrangement that I LOVED
