Okay, level with me here....when you tried on the gown that you ultimately purchased, did tears come to your eyes, butterflies come to your stomach, you knew it was 'the one' etc. OR were you like 'Hey, this looks good. I like it. I'll take it!'
Needless to say, I've been shopping and I have not had that 'the one' feeling at all. Granted, I'm not a sappy individual but everyone says that you should feel that way. I've found 2 dresses that I really like, but is 'really like' sufficient or do I keep hunting?

I have to admit that I cried every time I put the dress on...it was the only one I could feel myself getting married in

Re: Girls who already purchased their gown...
I didn't have the 'one' feeling... I think its a misconception that you HAVE to have that feeling... I just found myself trying on the same dress over and over and eventually realizing that it was THE dress... now that I've purchased it... i am SOOO in love with it... but it never happened in a love-at-first-sight kinda way... dont worry keep taking mental notes of what you love about a particular dress and then eventually you might see all or most those qualities come together in one dress

Re: Girls who already purchased their gown...
i had the same problem... i went to few stores and was always like 'i like it' and i was waiting for that 'feeling' too... but i was torn between two dresses... i left the store and went to another salon and tried on a couple more and just kept thinking about the dress.. and from that point i knew which one i wanted went in and bought it and now cant wait to get it! i also had three more appts set up and had no problem canceling them - so i knew i found the one!

Re: Girls who already purchased their gown...
I just posted about this same thing! I am going to ONE MORE, hear me, ONE MORE store and if I am still picturing the one I am picturing myself in, that is IT! Hope that helps, but I have been surveying around work, etc., and other girls are not crying, too, so no worries!

Re: Girls who already purchased their gown...
To be honest with you, I did not have tears in my eyes. My mom and friends who were with me did b/c they knew it was the one after trying on 10 dresses. I just knew it was the one for me too b/c I felt so amazing in it. I felt like a princess and it was so much different than the rest. Personally, I did not have any tears myself though.

Re: Girls who already purchased their gown...
you will KNOW when you are wearing the dress... Do you know what you want the dress to look like? Style? That made it so much easier for me...I knew exactly what I wanted and knew when I put it on for the first time that this was the dress.

I didn't cry. Neither did my MOH or mom. But that night I was so excited I couldn't sleep!

Re: Girls who already purchased their gown...
Well...I tried on my dress THREE times hahaha. I loved it the first time and was pretty sure there wouldn't be much to compare to it, but it was the first dress I tried on so I figured I'd keep looking. Then I found another one I adored...which made me so confused. I couldn't find a shop that had both dresses...so I went and tried on dress #1 again and was even MORE confused! Suddenly it wasn't as special. Then I went to try on dress #2 and thought it could be the one...but I still had another appointment to look at #1. I try on #1...with cathedral veil and all...and there was no doubt. I wouldn't say I cried, but I got emotional...does that make sense? Sorry for the long story, I just find it amusing!
I would say lots of people react differently to 'the one.' I think I was expecting a huge reaction as well...it just took a long time to get to the reaction I needed to be sure it was the one. The difference was, dress #2 was about the dress, dress #1 was about ME in the dress. That's what you should look for!!!

I'm not getting married til 08, found the dress I liked online, I was afraid they'd discontinue it so I went to the store, tried it on and bought it! I didn't cry, but as someone else said, I could see myself getting married in it! It'll all work out for you! Happy dress shopping!

Re: Girls who already purchased their gown...
I am normally a cry baby but when I first started trying on dresses I was having a hard time thinking I would cry when i tried these dresses on (first of all the dress will not be in my favorite color that makes me look slimmer: black... ) so i just did not get it at first.... but then i tried on the 'one' and I actually started to tear...it was weird! I NEVER thought I would get that way....but i don't think everyone does... (I cry at everything... i am super sensitive)
