If you check out the Newlywed boards there's a few posts like that.
I personally felt like that for a short time...now...I can honestly say I have 'My Life Back'.

I think it's normal to go through that. I personally am happy the wedding is over and that it went so well, because now is the meat and potatoes of my life! And it's fun to come on here and see all the beautiful brides. And it helps pass time at work! ;)

Re: GIRLS WHO ARE ALREADY MARRIED
I've been married for almost two months and I haven't felt sad yet that I am not planning a wedding anymore. We've had so much going on that I am happy I am not planning anymore. You get such a rush of things to do at the end that it is a relief not having to be in charge of wedding plans anymore. I also thought I'd have more free time, but I don't seem to....
Then again...DH's family was so impressed with my organizational skills (aka anal retentiveness) that I am now planning a family reunion for 34 people!

Re: GIRLS WHO ARE ALREADY MARRIED
I did feel that at first but honestly I am so glad the planning is over, it was pretty stressful.
Now I get to enjoy spending each day with my wonderful husband which makes me forget about all the planning.

Re: GIRLS WHO ARE ALREADY MARRIED
Yes, there's a few threads on this on the Newlywed board. I definately felt a sort of 'depression' after the wedding was over and we came back from our honeymoon.
I waited so long for that day to come, all the planning and anticipation and feeling special because I was the bride..and it came and went.
But now... honestly, I can't wait to have the final wedding things done! (like parent albums).

Re: GIRLS WHO ARE ALREADY MARRIED
Not really - I missed my wedding DAY because it was such a perfect day for us but I don't miss all the planning and stress. I guess it helped that I had other things going on after the wedding, like finding a new apartment and buying new furniture

Re: GIRLS WHO ARE ALREADY MARRIED
it wasn't so much that I was sad or depressed. It was just that you spend so much time planning that when it's over, your days seem kind of empty. Like you forgot what you used to do in your spare time before the wedding planning.

I agree, When you are wedding planning it takes over your whole life, after the wedding you can deal with everything else!

Re: GIRLS WHO ARE ALREADY MARRIED
Not really. It is just time to move on to another phase of my life. I want to make my home look like a home and not a Lenox Factory Outlet Store and I'd like to pop out a couple of these:

Re: GIRLS WHO ARE ALREADY MARRIED
I did feel a bit sad. We spent so much time and effort planning for this one day and then we were done with it all. The only good thing is that there are other things to look foward to. For example after the wedding you wait to get your proofs a few weeks later, and then you can to go through the day again in your mind.

and see your video!!! (I'm dying here!!!)
This is one MAJOR reason why you should get video too...just an FYI to future brides looking to save...get video...it's a necessity!

Re: GIRLS WHO ARE ALREADY MARRIED
i'm too busy trying to get adjusted my life, do all the 'after wedding' stuff, change my name, etc. etc. that i'm not depressed.
people said that about me too, because i was the ultimate planner. but i have to say, seeing your event played out before your eyes is amazing. now, i just need my proofs so i can do my review and also to write things down about the day so i don't forget them a year from now!

Re: GIRLS WHO ARE ALREADY MARRIED
Yes, I definitely felt sad for a while but as others have posted--afterwards you are MARRIED to the love of your life so what could be better than that? Coming on here helps too and now I am MOH for my sister (MattandTricia07) so I can still help plan!!!

LOL, Yeah, I do miss planning. But I think I'd like to help plan/throw any party, not just weddings.

Re: GIRLS WHO ARE ALREADY MARRIED
I felt like that for a bit (and sometimes I still do) but for the most part I'm just enjoying my new life with my DH and looking forward to having one of these days!

Re: GIRLS WHO ARE ALREADY MARRIED
OK well i can't answer for myself yet but i can definitely answer for my good girlfriend!! Her name is Teresa and we work together and she got married at Carlyle on the Green this past January... for her, it was mixed:
When she first came back from her HM she was like OMG I can't believe it's over-- that's it, it's all done and now I'm back at work right where I was three weeks ago like nothing ever happened. So she had days like that were it was shock. Then sometimes she would get sad about the fact that it was over and there was nothing left to do but talk about it as a memory...
She talked to me a lot about this stuff. She did say she was VERY happy at times to not be so stressed all the time (especially as the date got closer). She said it was the nicest thing in the world to not have to RUN right to the gym after work and do her wedding-day work out. She loved the fact that she could go home after work sometimes and only go to the gym if she WANTED to... she also LOVED how she didn't have to go pick up favors or run to this place and take care of that.. etc, etc. She said it was nice to be able to go home and just relax or hang out with her husband. She is also looking forward to having kids.
I hope her experience helps you a bit!!! I'll let you know how my sister copes after August!
