Girls who booked RC church 'outside' of their parish...
sorry to post another church question but we are having SOOOOO many problems finding a chuch in LI. We chose not have the ceremony at our parish in NYC because for us the city was too $$$ and we have a # of OT guests who worried about expenses in the city as well.
So we want to book the reception in Port Jefferson but can not find a church that will have us. We already got a letter from our church that is OK with them and we have contacted a bunch of churches near PJ as well as the Diocese of Rockville but NO LUCK!!.
Another problem is that we are hoping to do this relatively quickly (a Sunday in August) because 2 of my FH brothers are in the navy and being shipped out for 3 yrs. the end of August.
WAS ANYONE WELCOMED BY A CHURCH IN LI. At this point I am willing to try anywhere that is remotely near the North Shore that has accepted outside parishioners in the past!! Thanks for listening!!

You can try St. Patricks RC Church in Smithtown. I heard a couple, where neither of them were a parishoner was allowed to marry there. Just a few rules to follow first. You will just have to go through Pre-Cana. Good Luck, it is a beautiful church.

Once upon a time I was getting married in a Catholic Church, & I had this problem too. the one that called back first was Our lady of Lourdes in Massapequa. That's not really near you though. St. Paul's in Brookville also called back, but we had already made a decison. I think the same goes for St. Bernard's in Levitown, but none of those are really near Port Jefferson. Brookville is north shore, but Nassau.
Its might be worth a shot though, but they were a little difficult to get in touch with.

St. John the Baptist in Wading River. Deacon Fred Finter is wonderful!

I've heard that there is a very long waiting list for St. Patrick's in Smithtown. I'm getting married at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs in Centerport, you could try them. 631-757-8184. Good luck!

I am getting married at St. Barnabas in Bellmore. They have been absolutely wonderful.
My parish is Infant Jese (in PJ) and they gave me a lot of problems (couldn't guarantee the church, couldn't guarantee the priest, etc.)
What about getting married at your reception location?????
Good luck!!!!!!

You can try the Syosset church, the priest was willing to have us married there, even tho we didn't belong. Also, it's a brand new church.
Also the Woodbury church would allow us to be married there, but, we had to donate $600 since we did not belong, and we had to have a priest from our church come and preform the ceremony.
Defianaltey try the syosset church.

This might also be out of your way, but St Anthony's in Seaford. It's right off the Seaford-Oysterbay Expressway right off Sunrise Hwy. Good Luck!!

Thank you so much for the help!! I am going to try every one of these. I know it is a long shot but it means a lot to us to get married in a church.
