I dyed my shoes blue and last night I tried them on for lik 30mins while my mom worked on bustling my dress. When I took them off my whole foot was blue! Is this normal? I thought the dye was only supposed to come off if it got wet (and my feet weren't sweaty).
I was just curious before I go and demand new shoes.. those babies were pricey so if it's not normal I want them replaced

Unfortunately, I have seen this before. That is why I am choosing not to dye my shoes. I was at a wedding last year...purple BM dresses w/dyed shoes to match....every BM had purple feet. One girl told me it took a week to finally come off! Sorry, I don't mean to upset you...blue isn't as dark as purple, so maybe yours will be ok. Again, I don't mean to upset you, I just want to prepare you.

Well at least I know that I'll just have to live with it and FH will just have to like his new wifey with smurf feet!

I had mine dyed a really bright purple color, and have worn them for 3 fittings for at least 30 mins each time and haven't had ANY color, not even a little rub off on my feet or anything. I know if they get sweaty or wet they can stain, but I haven't experience any staining on non-wet/sweaty feet. I got mine dyed at Sandy's Shoes in Massapequa park.

I wish I could have such a great attitude towards things like this. Sorry to hear that your feet turned blue. I wanted to do this also and my FSIL told me about her shoes bleeding once it got wet.

I've heard of this before... I can't remember specifically what happened, but I KNOW someone that I know had a bad experience with the dye leaking.

But all jokes aside, theres gotta be something you can put in the shoe to repel (for lack of better words) the dye from going on your foot.
