girls who got alot more NOs than expected.........

OK OK before anyone attacks me yes i know i said i really needed people to say NO we were looking for about 40 people to say NO to stay on budget....an dwith as many OOT guests as we had, we figured we would get that.............

well we are WAY under now i'm a little sad about people not wanting to come.....i understand its a holiday weekend and some people wanna go away....fine but people who live local and rsvp no with no reason makes me sad. I see so many of you with really high YES counts and so little NOs. we invited 202 and we are at 120 ( still waiting to hear from FHs brothers who are in germany and arizona figured they should KNOW BY NOW!!!! but wither way we are under our minimum....we have a few people we have talked to and asked it they would like to come and explained to them why we couldnt invite them originally ( we had more family to invite than we expected to lol) they all showed interst in comming and were planning on comming to the church either way so heopfully they will come! but still i cant help but feel sad that people do not want to share in our day ill get over it but right now i am just a little sad

for those who had the same thing happen how did you feel???

This didn't happen to us yet, but it's going to. We're kind of counting on it though... we're inviting a lot of people and are expecting many NOs. A lot of our friends are OOT, and all of FH's family is. Also the usual NOs everyone else gets...

It's not necessarily that they don't want to be there, and hopefully this will be a great opportunity for the people you would have liked to invite but couldnt initially to come. Plus, you dont have to pay more than your minimum!

Thanks! yeah i am def happy we are savign ALOT of money lol but it still hurts how many peopel said no.....and i feel bad for FH cause it is mostly HIS family!

You know what, you will still have a fabulous time without them! It's their loss....I know people always say that but it's true! Whoever is there, as long as the really important ones are there, that's all that really matters! It is disappointing sometimes when people RSVP no, but it is what it is. They are missing out on a once-in-a-lifetime experience: your wedding!! And you will use that extra $$ for something fabulous for you and fH!!

120 people is still a lot of people, don't be bummed about it. We went to a wedding last year that was about 100 people and it was awesome and we had a great time. Is it that you think there won't be alot of people there?? Don't worry.

This happened to us. We invited 274 and had 189 attend...it was very disappointing even though we expected about 60 no's. My feelings were hurt because some people gave BS excuses and one person I was really close with gave the worst of all. It ***** and I didnt know how to get over it at the time. But, I moved on and went through the day without thinking about it. Many of the people thought that sending a gift would make it better I was like. oh ok thanks...it was really nice of them and they sooo didnt have to do that but I would have rather had them at the wedding and not even give a gift then just send a random card weeks later. I am sorry you are going through this!!!

we had more no's than expected ... mostly we attributed that to inviting everyone with a guest, even if they had no sig. other. most of those people came to the wedding alone.

also, some of what i like to refer to as 'fake invitees' ... people who never really were going to come, but 'had to be invited'

NO i def think 120 is a nice number.......i was just dissapointed at HOW MANY NOS i got lol i really didnt expect it at all lol

i know it will be a great day i think im just mad that i passed over friends and other people who would love to come for peopel we HAD TO invite and now we feel kinda weord saying OK THERE IS ROOM NOW YOU CAN COME lucky for us they all understand the situation tho :)

Don't worry about it. I invited 165 and only 110 showed with half giving stupid reasons. Some even at the last minute called and canceled.

I found out who my real family and friends were that day. I have to say 120 is still a good number and you will still have fun with or without them.

So sorry your going through this. The exact same thing happened to us. I actually ended up inviting more peope to make our minimum at least. I was really saddened at first too, but then i thougt about it. The people that love you and care the most will be there. If people dont consider it to be an honor to be a guest at your wedding . then you dont want them there anyway. I understand that people have lives that are super busy, but whenever i get invited to someones wedding, i make it a point to set aside that day to be there and celebrate with them. Unfortunately , not everyone thinks that way. Dont let people upset you. Enjoy your day with the people that are there. it will be wonderful!

I also totally get how you feel, and you have a right to feel that way! However, try not to let it get the best of you. You seem to be balancing out the negative feelings, which is good. 120 is a very nice number! Are you far below your minimum? Your day will be wonderful, you know that! And, the most important thing, which we all need to remember when we get wrapped up in all this, is that it is a party! The most important thing is that you are marrying the love of your life! It will be wonderful, and it is their loss!

yeah my min is 125 but once i add the vendors in ill hit my minimum

I got a lot more 'No' responses than expected and honestly a lot of them aren't out of town, and it makes me really offended. It's like I'm not important enough for them to come and celebrate my big day. Whatever Their loss .... just as long as I stay above my minimum which is 120. Right now we're at 97
