Girls who had LONG wedding days - how did you get your makeup to stay?
I'm kind of panicking because our wedding is going to be such a LONG day, and there is no way my makeup is going to stay put even with airbrush! We're doing first look pictures around 3:30 pm, but photographer is going to start with getting ready pictures around 2 pm. Our ceremony then isn't until SEVEN pm, and reception lasts until 12:30!
Makeup artists I've spoken to think we should start applying makeup around 9 am, with me going last (probably around 11/11:30), so there of course is no way makeup is going to last until midnight. I'm nervous about it even lasting until the beginning of the ceremony because I have oily skin :(
What did you ladies do? I can't afford to have a makeup artist come back to do 'touch ups' because i've been quoted $300 for that service.

I have a similar time line. Pictures are going to start at 430. The makeup artist is coming around 130 to do all of us, doing me last. I don't know why you would need your makeup done at 11am if you're not starting pictures until 330. I would think getting your makeup done around 2 would be a better idea.It all depends on the type of makeup, and you should definitely use a finishing spray (urban decay sells them if your makeup girl doesn't use one).

Just had my wedding 2 weeks ago.. I had my photographer at the hotel at 2, first look at 4, ceremony at 7:30.. The makeup artist came to the hotel around 10 to do everyone's makeup. She did mine last.. did airbrush and EVERYTHING stayed on beautifully.. the only thing i touched up was my lipstick which i barely cared about once the reception started.. It is a long day but they are professionals and they know what they are doing.

we are getting married on the same day! We are doing the same thing though: hair and makeup is starting around 9, but I'm going last and that should be around 1130/12. Ceremony is at 3:30, reception is at 7, and reception ends at 12... I think you will be fine with hair/makeup for that long of a day though. Almost everyone's wedding timeline is like this and they all look great... Just be sure that if you want your hair down, that you are sure the curls will last. My hairstylist suggested getting long layers put in my hair so that the curls don't get weighed down

Im getting airbrush with setting spray. My make up artist is coming after the church to the reception hall to touch myself my mom and bridesmaids up and only charging us $50 extra! She is great! :) I am getting pictures done at noon so I'll be getting ready around 9 and my reception ends at 1am!

I had the most incredible makeup artist for my hot, sticky, sweaty summer wedding. I also cried practically alllll day and night, slept in it and the next morning it still looked practically perfect! I had my makeup done around 12:00ish, photographer arrived for house pictures around 1:00, first look at 4:00 (outside in the sweltering heat) and by the time the ceremony arrived at 6:30 it still looked absolutely, positively perfect!

Re: Girls who had LONG wedding days - how did you get your makeup to stay?
I wouldn't worry. Pro makeup artists use professional makeup and techniques. I had my makeup done at 9:30 a.m., 2:00 ceremony, 3:30-6:00 pictures, and reception went until 12. My makeup didn't move an inch! In fact, we went to the hotel bar afterward until about 1:30, and when I went to bed around 2:00, I still had to wash my face twice. Just make sure you have powder and lipstick to freshen up.
