Cinqueterre is absolutely gorgeous! I went years ago and we stayed in Pisa and took the train to the towns. Now that I'm a 'grown-up', and not a broke college student, I would definitely stay in one of the towns. Have so much fun!

Was in Italy last year. LOVED Florence!! So much to do there between all the museums and just a great walkable city. The oudoor market is awesome! Bought a great leather jacket there...cheap!

Also...see if you can ge to Venice...very beautiful and romantic!

Good luck! I would love to go to Italy for my honeymoon...only my FH and I want to go to a place that neither of us have been before..ugh!

p.s. the pizza in italy is awesome!!

Re: girls who have been to italy

I LOVE Italy, spent a month there, and that where Fh and I met

Florence- definitely see the Trevi fountain
Rome- Spanish step, vatican, colliseum.

I don't remember any of the names of restaurants we went to, but the food was delicious everywhere we went. We even had the best Chinese food there!

As a tip, many places have college students who do the tours for free, or very cheap. We got to see everything and do all the tours for basically nothing. It works out better sometimes, because you end up with a smaller tour group and get more personlized tours. Just look for them or listen for them outside all the tourist spots.

Also, try to go to Venice. It is gorgeous. even if you do a day trip there to go to St. Marks, the Rialto Bridge, and take a gondola ride.

Ahh I'm so jealous!!!

The coast was sooo nice too....we did a lot of little boat cruises and hiking and stuff! I am jealous, I wanna go back!!

Re: girls who have been to italy

am home now, so I will just write it on here. Get a guide book if you havent already, it was a tremendous help! (i used lonely planet)

Florence: beautiful city! You can do everything by foot which is great! Piazza del Duomo its beautiful and right on the center of everything. You should def. visit the the Galleria dell'accademia where Michelangelo's David statue is. Take a picture by the ponte vecchio (old bridge). Go to the scuola del cuoio (leather school) which is where i got most of my souveniers (I got FH and beautiful leather waller with his initials).

Rome: I was blessed! A very cute italian guy drew a map of rome for me on the train ride there of the path to follow to see all the attractions.. it was helpful and still have it 5 years later! eveyone should def. go see the colosseum, althoguh there is not much there. I would go to the Patheon, trevi fountain, the spanish steps. Def. go to the vatican, it was amazing and make sure you visit the sistine chapel, that was my only regret. I didnt get to see it because I went on a sunday when it was closed and I didnt know!

The amalfi coast- OMG, love it! We went to positano and it was beautiful, the best seafood I ever had. We also went to Capri and stayed in anacapri, which I actually liked better than Capri. Its a smaller island, a bus ride away. I write forever on this so feel free to ask specific questions thorugh FM.

my favorite cities were Florence and Venice because it's so great to just roam the streets. Rome is obviously impressive, but for me, I didn't love it - it was more like jumping from one 'must-see' to another, and I didn't revel in the street life as much.

Forgot to add The Duomo in Florence!! It's beautiful, and if you're up for it, you can climb all the stairs up to the top!
