Girls who have gone to Hawaii

Girls who have gone to Hawaii

Where did you stay in Maui?? We're staying at the Westin in Maui, but I started to read reviews and they're not great. Now we're bouncing back and forth between the Westin and the Hyatt. They say the Westin has the better beach but has run down rooms and the Hyatt has nice bars and a really nice pool. The Hyatt has its share of bad reviews too, but they seem worse for the Westin.

Our TA is on vacation until next week so I was hoping to get some feedback from you ladies!

Thanks!!

My best friend went for her honeymoon in Hawaii and they stayed at the Hyatt. They absolutely loved the Maui Hyatt so much that I will be staying there too for our honeymoon. I've heard such great things about the Hyatts all over Hawaii.

We did not go to Maui but we did stay at Hyatts on Oahu & Kauai. Hyatt was great. We stayed at a Grand Hyatt & a Hyatt Regency. Great experience with both.

we stayed at the hyatt too. it was a nice, but really big hotel (DH and i had to walk like 10 min just to get to the gym! ha!) i dont know if there are less kids/families at other hotels but we nicknamed the hotel 'disneyland' since all there were were kids & families. just something to note!

We just got back from Maui last week and stayed at the Sheraton and it was FABULOUS. The beach was amazing, it was close to Whaler's Village and right next to Black Rock. Seriously a gorgeous resort. We booked three nights there through expedia, this included their breakfast buffet which was pretty kick a$$.

Then we moved to a private condo here,
http://themahana.com/
for 7 nights, it was about 3/4 mile north in Lahaina. The condo was great, on the 8th floor with wonderful ocean views. It was really well appointed and on a great stretch of beach as well and had a pool, bbq's, concierge, etc.. If you want I can send you the owner's information.

It was really nice to split our time like that, we had a full resort feel, and then were able to have access to a kitchen for breakfast, sandwiches, etc. and just sort of being more chill at the condo. Also, you definitely need a car rental for Maui.

Finally, I would HIGHLY recommend buying the book Maui Revealed, it was our trip bible!

The Westin and the Hyatt are in the same complex. The Westin is in the middle and the Hyatt is at one end. The nice thing about the Westin is it has the nicer beach. The beach near the Hyatt stinks but its just literally a 2 minute walk down this pathway to a better beach. However, the nice thing about the Hyatt is the pool, there is a separate kid pool which is nice.

We stayed at the Hyatt and LOVED it. But honestly, it seemed like all the hotels in this complex were really nice. Also in the center of the complex are a ton of outdoor shops and restaurants, plus its nice to go to the restaurants in the other hotels.

The service at the Hyatt was unbelievable, so friendly and accomdating.

I stayed at the Mahana for my friend's wedding 2 years ago. Her parents own condos there. It was a really nice and affordable place to stay...and in a good location!
