girls who have had a long engagement...1.5-2 years

when did you take your engagement pictures?

i stopped into my photographer today to revise my contract and she told me i should do my e-shoot soon so i can reserve a photographer.

i have 18 months to go so i was gonna do it in another 9 months, i guess thats too soon if i wanna grab the really good photogs??

when did you ladies take yours?

i still havent taken mine and was planning on doing them ths summer... just never got around to it.... i dont think it really matters when you take em... do what works best for you

I booked my photographer a while ago based on his previous work. I just scheduled my engagement pictures today for October. I've been engaged since 11/6/06.

I'll take mine about 6-9 months before the wedding... I think FH wants to do them in the summer so we can go to the beach.

I plan on reserving the same photog that does my wedding.

My photographer said they do it a few months b4 the wedding this way the guy remembers us and how to shoot us. Like what poses look good and what do not.

we just took ours last month.... it was less than a year to the wedding and we got engaged last august

We have (had) a 16-month engagement so we could save up for the wedding, plus trying to set a date between my school schedule, FH's business trip schedule and the Jewish calendar was crazy!! We STILL haven't taken our e-pics, and I'm kind of annoyed about that, b/c I wanted to take them in May around our 1-year engagement anniversary, but that didn't happen b/c of scheduling. We're tentatively scheduled for Sept 7th, and I'm HOPING we get to take them that day!!

I got engaged in April of 07 and I took my e-pics today ! We are getting married Sept of 09. I wanted to get them done by the one yr mark so that I can use them for std's.

i was engaged jan 07...took epics sept 07, 9 months before wedding. i got married june 08 and since i had a spring wedding, i wanted fallish e-pics.

I took mine a year before..and it worked out perfectly because I used them for our stds..

I would do them whenever you want to do them, if you want fall pics book for the fall or spring, etc. I dont think it matters when you do them during your engagement~I know this wasnt your question I was just pointing out that you may have a certain season in mind for them

I plan on taking them 3-4 months before the wedding since they arent for STD's or anything. its just a way to get to know your photographer and get comfortable. So may or june 2009 for me.

We got engaged in May 07, booked the photographer in July and took our epics at the end of August. Then again, we didn't really do them in a regular location.
