girls who have line dances on ur DNP lists are worried people won't dance?

i have no line dances on my list like electric slide, macarena, etc. but i'm starting to think w/o them people won't get up to dance since these are the songs that get most people up. anyone else worried?

Nope, not worried. Honestly, I think that a good DJ will play music that will get everyone up withOUT having to play those songs!

thats what i was thinking too but one of my friends is like how can u NOT play those songs?? i'm like because i have faith in my dj.

we specifically told our DJ--NO GROUP dances...we hate them with a passion. maybe its a cultural thing--since majority of our guests were spanish....and my ppl 'tiene que bailar!' LOL but there was plenty of dancing happening

as a matter of fact, our DJ says he hates those dances also--cause most of the time when you play one, most of the dance floor empties anyway, and ppl have to drag other guests to the floor to do them.

I had all those songs on my DNP list for my e-party. Everyone was still dancing, but FH's aunt requested the Electric Slide. The DJ told her he wasn't allowed to play it and I felt like she was all bent out of shape so I told the DJ to play it. Sure enough, everyone was up doing it--young and old. Now, I'm rethinking putting that one on my DNP list. I mean it won't be on my must-play list, but if someone asks for it, I won't care.

There has never been a wedding in my family where people didn't dance - so I wouldn't worry about it!

Many people sit down for some of those dances, too... so you should be fine!

We played the electric slide and cotton eye joe-and just about everyone got up for those and stayed on the floor. For the most part it was only our age group dancing until then.
Everyone said they hadnt seen that many people dancing at a wedding in years.

I think that it really depends onthe crowd. Some people will dance to anything-but IMO i think those are the songs that get people to loosen up

My fondest memories are during the two cheesy cliched wedding tunes.. YMCA and Shout! I am SO glad we played them!

I first send my dj my list and put not to play any of those songs and then totally rethought it. they have been played at every wedding ive ever been to and my fam always gets up and dance. they seem to enjoy it and i also did worry about people not dancing. theyre cheesy but theyre all in good fun so i figured, hey whats the harm. of course i decided only on a few that are acceptable. LIke you said YMCA, Shout, all that. But some me and fh really dont like.
