I'm just wondering how much song choice you had when dealing with the band. So far we have only been asked to provide our band with a few song choices. Other people I've spoken to who had bands said that they chose about 90% of their music. Part of me wants to leave it alone and let them play what they play since they're the professionals, but the other part is worried that I could possibly not like what they play and regret not speaking up. TIA
All we got was a 2 page letter in the mail asking for our bridal party and parents names, father/daughter, mother/son, first dance, and cake cutting songs. It also has a part for 'favorite songs/artists', but thats it! I was expecting a little bit more.

What band are you using? Did they give you a song list?
We're using Code Bleu, and I'm pretty sure (hoping) they give us a song list to choose from.

I have the one they gave out at the showcase that I booked them at. But I thought that was just a 'piece' of their song list![]()
I would def type a list on MSWord and list the songs that you def want them to play for the DJ List as well as your personal songs- First Dance, Father & Daughter Dance, Intro, etc. I would only leave them with a 30% chance to surprise the guests with the rest of the music selections. The prob with leaving it to your band for most of your music is the variety. It's going to be a mix/compile of songs that might had been played out in previous weddings with a few different songs in the end. However, if you take charge and type out a list then they'll know what to cover and play something that both you and your guests will enjoy. This way it only leaves them a small percentage to fill in the gap for the rest of the song list. It's typical for a band to ask you what you would like them to cover for the songs. It's 90% most of the time for couples to decide rather than the band. I guess it depends on the band you work with for your wedding.
