girls who made their own cardboxes

girls who made their own cardboxes

A few quick questions:

1. How much did it cost you?
2. Would you reccomend making your own or just buying it?
3. Was it alot harder than you expected? Any major problems?

I'm trying to decide if I want to make my own! Also, if you have pics of your's that would be great.

Thanks!

Here is mine and the one I made for my sister.

The cost varies depending on the fabric you choose- it's not that hard if you have patience.

I thought it was fun!

I made one for another LIweddings bride- but don't have a picture of it.

Good luck!

I've made a few and I don't think anything has cost me more than maybe $30 tops. I think they're fun to make and I'm glad that I didn't buy one!

It took about 6 hours, I spent around 60$, the hardest part was taping down the paper around the slot.
Sadly, since it was for our Cali reception, nobody knew what it was!!!!!!!!
We did maps in anticipation of our cross country move/honeymoon.
FYI in my album you can see the one for LI that I did not make, it's called the fluffy cardbox.
It was fluffy.
I actually matched it to my dress.

We got all of our supplies at walmart for well under 30 dollars...the boxes were gift boxes that we had around the house! We actually added a couple of little boxes and a bow to the top but i don't have a pic of it! sorry!

Re: girls who made their own cardboxes

I made my own cardbox and prob. only spent about $30 or so. Also I used wrapping paper rather than fabric. It was hard to work with at times but it ended up turning out fine. I bought the boxes from ac moore (with coupons of course!) and my little ones were gift boxes that I had around the house. Here is a pic:

Mine cost me about $30 with fabric, rhinestones, pearls, boxes, ribbon, wooden letters and flowers.

I totally recommend making one because it's totally custom and totally something that you love not something that someone else thinks you may like .

It was a little hard at first wrapping the fabric around the box but later on i got the hang of it

i dont have a picture on this computer but colleen you have seen mine. it cost me maybe $40'ish but thats because i have issues and needed the boxes to be perfectly sized so i actually bought nesting paper mache boxes online and they were like 25-30 bucks.

it was a little annoying to do since im not very crafty but i do like the way it came out and when i was finally done i was proud of it lol

We're going to make the photo card box.

Picture frames on sale at Michael's: $5 each
Lazy Susan from Ikea: $7.99

All we need is the material for the top, which will be card board covered in fabric. Probably won't cost more than $10.

And FH wants to use guerilla glue to put it all together, which costs like $8.

So I don't think it will cost more than $50.
