Girls who printed their own envelopes..

Girls who printed their own envelopes..

OK, I wanted to print the addresses on the envelopes and I am not that great with running programs. I have word and office on my computer but I am not sure how to do it. Once I get it all set up and print (I am using scrap paper) I have to reset everything each time. To me that is going to take forever, I have 150 invites to do. Is there anyway to set the format and just type each address without resetting everything??? Please help!! TIA!

My return address is on the back flap already printed, if that makes any difference.

I used the clear labels....Used a nice font, printed the labels and placed onto the envelope...they looked beautiful!

I had an issue with our printer too. Some would go through with no problem, then others would jam and I would have to reset everything! It took FOREVER!!!! I really hope someone can give you some good advice though!

I used MS picture it and just adjusted the page size to match the envelope size. It took me a few minutes to align everything just right but after a few test pages I got it. It was a bit of a pain because I had to go back & forth from MS Word to copy and paste each address but in the end it was worth it. I used the Chopin scipt font and they turned out great. Just play with it a bit and make sure to use blank test pages. I also made sure that I wrote everything down as I went along which was a good thing because FH shut down the computer and if I hadn't written it down I would have had to start from scratch

I used word for my envelopes. I just opened a regular document, ,picked my font and size (lucinda hand 22-34 font...I have big a$$ envelopes) and practiced on a scrap paper cut to the size of my envelopes. I didn't center or anything. I found that if you go down a quarter of the page and use the regular margin, you can just adjust the addresses depending on length etc. After a few envelopes, I made a tiny white out mark on my monitor that lined up with the first line of the addresses. I got to be a pro after about 10. A few jammed, but nothing major. My envelopes came out pretty nice. I hope this makes sense to you...

Roed probably has the more organized, practical approach as opposed to my a$$ backwards one...

Organized, ok maybe.. Practical no friggin way, lol
I know there has to be an easier way but I couldn't bother trying to figure it out, this worked for me and I stuck with it. Well at least we got it done right

Heres what you do...once you have the settings programed you hit the 'add to document' button..and it will save the dimensions...

I had the same problem at first as well but then I decided to make a new document and made the paper size the envelope size. I then copied an address from the master list I had on another word document and pasted it into the new document I created and pressed print. THe envelopes came out great and it was quick and easy. After I clicked print I would just highlight the next address and replace it in the new doucument with the previous address. It took me a matter of 30 minutes to print 75 invites. I did the same thing for the inner envelope as well. (Oh yeah, I also changed the way the paper would be feed into the printer to by saying it would be feed like envelopes. It made it nice and even that way!) FM if you have questions.

Did you do a mail merge from Excel into your Word document? That's how I do envelopes and it works fone every time!

Definitely a mail merge between excel and word will be the easist way. That's how I plan to do it for my wedding invites.

We did our envelopes in Word... I just set the document size to the size of the envelope, typed in the address and saved it... then I typed in the next address and did 'save as' and kept doing it like that. then whenever I went to print, the settings were all the same.

i had the same problem and it was such a nightmare!! after destroying several envelopes i finally decided to pay someone to do them and it was well worth the money (only $135 for 100 envelopes) I know some girls print on clear label that might be the better route!! good luck

Go to page setup and adjust the paper size to the dimensions of your envelopes.
