girls who took their epics in NYC...

where in NYC did you take your epics and why did you pick that place?

FH and I are getting ready to take out epics and we have to pick a location...all help is appreciated...and if you have a favorite photo, post the pic !!

Lupita, I just took mine on Tuesday in Central Park (obviously don't have pics to show yet).

I picked it for a few reasons - I wanted something that said New York but not too obvious. I wanted a place that had different options for settings/backgrounds/ etc. I wanted pics with trees and water because we *may* not be able to have these pics on our wedding day.

Also, after I started walking in Central Park during lunch with my friend, I realized there were soooo many gorgeous spots to take pictures there. I made a mental list of places I reallllly wanted to take pictures at, and that made it clear I had to have them there.

My second choice was at a beach. We won't have any pics at a beach for our wedding and I love the look of these pics. BUT for us, I didn't think there would be enough options for different types of settings and, more importantly, we don't live on LI or near any beaches so it would have been a major trek for the pics.

With CP, I only took a 1/2 day off from work, walked to Saks to get my makeup done at the counter, came back to my office to change and took a quick cab ride up to our meeting location.

I live in NYC so we choose to do e-pics in our neighborhood and subway.

Central Park is a great place to do E-Pics.
Times square is another great place.

We took our e-pics in the city too -- we took them in Central Park in October. I had seen so many e-pics from there and knew it was where we wanted to go -- I just love the backdrop of the different arcitectural elements like the bridges, fountains, gates. And since we are getting married in the fall we went on a 'real' fall day when the leaves had already started chaning. It was just us!! take a look at my album of e-pics.

Fallinlove has the best Central Park e-pics!!!! I almost posted some of yours as an example for Lupita but I didn't want to overstep.

I just responded to your FM, but I just came across this post!

I personally didn't want to take our e-pics at Central Park, because as beautiful as it is there, I wanted a 'city feel' to my pix. I'm a city girl, and FH is a LI boy, and all our wedding pix are going to be in LI, so I wanted something that was 'me.' So....that being said...I suggest

The Brooklyn Promenade - GORGEOUS views of Manhattan (I wish we'd gone there)
The Seaport (where we took ours)
The Flatiron District
On the South Ferry
Bryant Park
Times Square
Grand Central (I'm pretty sure you need a permit tho)

Lupita, you're so funny!
It worked out really well for me (well, the MU lady took a little extra long so I'd recommend going a bit earlier than you think you need to). If you want to use the lady that did my makeup, just FM me for her name. She works at MAC in Saks and she did my friend's makeup for her wedding and for another event. My FH loved how I looked and my friends at work thought my makeup looked nice too.

I did central park too.
It's where we got engaged & meant a lot to us. No pics yet.
