Hey ladies, Question. So the organist is included in the church fee where I'm getting married whether I use the organist or not. My fiance and I are considering playing songs from the CD player at church instead of using the organist (not too crazy about the organ). I'm a bit worried though about the timing of the songs, will they be able to slowly fade from one song to the other. I can get my DJ to create a CD for me but the church is now telling me that maybe I should get my own person to be in charge of playing the CD the day of the ceremony. Who can I possibly put in charge of that? I'm already paying $1000 for the church and possible not using a service that I have to pay for regardless and on top of that get one of my guests to play the CD's. I want all my guests to be able to enjoy the ceremony and not worry about running back and forth playing a CD. Ugh... I don't know what to do.

Re: Girls who used CD player at church...
I know everybody's opinion is different and I don't mean to start anything. At my grandma's funeral this summer they played the music off of a CD and I thought it was awful and tacky. They had good versions of the songs but I felt that it was obviously being played from a CD. We obviously knew that Andrea Botocelli was not at the church singing, so why pretend? I wasn't going to do anything extra besides what the church offered, but then and there I decided Im using the organist and getting an ouside singer (I don't have a singer at church that I really like).
I'd recommend going with the organist or even a piano if they have one.
P.S. My cousin was in charge of playing and stopping the songs. A bit weird that he was sitting by himself and not with the family, and then my unclde goes, 'OMG great job with the music'. Really? He pressed a button, not played an instrument. LOL
