Girls who used hydrangeas?

Did they last the whole day? I really love hydrangeas, but if they are going to turn brown then I'd rather pick something that will last.

A friend of mine used hydrangeas... they were so pretty and they really lasted... the only thing I didn't like was the hydrangea bouts. They wilted really fast.... here's a pick of my FH, you can see the bout. is all wilted....

My friend used them also, they didnt turn brown but they did wilt quite a bit.

mine lasted all day and the ones in my centerpieces lasted about a week

We're using hydrangeas and so long as you're not getting married in the dead of summer on a humid day to boot, you should be fine.

HOWEVER, every florist I met with said to never use hydrangeas for bout's because they just won't last. They all recommended a different flower in the same color family of my other flowers (blue).

The thing with hydrangeas is that they drink a LOT of water and need it constantly, so they're great for centerpieces and for bo-k's if you're really concerned they could just tube the stem with water and then tie ribbon around it... although they'd probably drink up all the water very quickly.

Thank you so much...I was planning on using ivory for the BM's bok's...as long as they last for the pictures then I'll be happy.

i had undeveloped (green) hydrangeas in the bo-ks and centerpieces and they lasted all day and then some!

You can go with other flowers in your bouquets that compliment hydrangea and then use hydrangea in the CPs.

My bouquet is roses and callas, but my BMs are carrying roses with blue delphinium. Then the CPs are roses, hydrangea, and blue delphinium. Just another idea if you really like hydrangea, but are worried about wilting.

I used hydrangeas...but only in my cps. They lasted for almost 2 weeks after the wedding. I didn't use them in my bo-k because my friend did and my BM bo-k was wilted and brown before we got to the reception. I felt really bad.
