I just recently been prescribed glasses, not realizing how blind I actually was.
But, I have a fear of putting things in my eye, and I was wondering how many of you out there are wearing your glasses the day of?
I had purposely picked a reddish color in case I end up having to wear them lol. thanks!

no glasses for me ... but if you don't want to wear them, you could always leave them off while taking your pictures and then put them on for the ceremony & reception ....
i see no problem with glasses though ... as long as their not Steve Urkel Glasses

Re: Girls who wear glasses all the time...
I wear glasses regularly, or rather I'm SUPPOSED to wear glasses regularly. So does DH. Neither of us like contacts and neither of us wanted to wear glasses on our wedding day. I didn't wear them for like the week before so my eyes could get used to not seeing anymore. That sounds AWFUL, but I didn't want to be squinting in pictures.
DH sent me a text about an hour before the wedding, 'So I'll see you when you're about halfway down the aisle.'

I wear glasses and plan on wearing them the day of. I also can not put anything in my eye so contacts are not an option. I actually just picked up my new glasses Saturday. They are rimless with silver accents on them. I will be able to see FH as I am walking down the aisle and they look nice on.

Yeah, you can totally get glasses that look like jewelry or are so subtle you can barely notice them!

My DH wears glasses all the time but didn't wear them on the wedding day either. He couldn't see me until my father was literally handing me over to him

Re: Girls who wear glasses all the time...
When DH & I first started dating he only wore contacts & I only wore glasses. Then he ran out of contacts & was wearing his glasses, he never went back to contact. I on the other hand got contacts because I have lots of issues with my eyes & I feel I can see best with contacts over my glasses.
What DH did for the wedding, was when he purchased new glasses last year, he went with a very expensive, fansier looking pair because he knew he would be waring them for the wedding.

I wear contacts and honestly I haven't even owned a pair of glasses since like 10 years ago! It's a little weird at first trying to put them in your eyes but I promise you that weirdness only last about a week and a half and then you get used to it!

This might be totally weird, and I guess if you have a fear of putting things in your eye this won't be help...
but when i was young (like 12) and trying out contact lenses for the first time, i couldn't get them in, so my mom would put them in for me!
and I was able to get them out myself. I only had her do it a handful of times for special occassions before I finally got the hang of it, but it was definitely helpful!
again, i might be completely wacky in recommending that, but it could work!!!

Re: Girls who wear glasses all the time...
I've needed glasses for distance since like 7th grade. My prescription is not strong at all & I only wear them to drive and to watch TV or something far away. I can see but things in the distance are blurry. It was really important to me to be able to clearly see FH's face on our wedding day....as well as our others guests. I just got contacts 3 days ago & I LOVE them. It's amazing being able to see perfectly without wearing glasses. I definitely did not wanna wear my glasses on my wedding day, but that's JMO.

Re: Girls who wear glasses all the time...
I wear glasses all the time, almost 24/7 and have been wearing contacts at night if i'm going out or on the weekends.
About 5 years ago, my girlfriend got married and I was in the bridal party. I had my glasses on and every time we took pictures, I hooked them on my bar on the inside of the bust of my dress. It worked so well!!!

I did this for my brother for about a week when he got contacts when we were younger. He seriously could not do it... but he got the hang of it.
99% of the time I wear my glasses but I refuse to wear them on the day of my wedding (or any other time I get dressed up). I have three pairs and I can't see wearing any of them on the day of and I don't want them in my pics.
Why don't you even want to try them? See if your eye doc will give you a trial pair so you can at least try them out,

Re: Girls who wear glasses all the time...
I actually got contacts like 3 months ago because of the wedding. I was also very freaked out about having something in my eye and having to put it in and take them out. I can honestly say that it is a MILLION times easier than I'd thought it would be. The first 2 days were a lil weird and putting them in was kinda hard, but after that, its a breeze. Now I can't imagine not having them.
Just try it out! The optician will walk you through taking them in and out. It helps when someone is guiding you at first. The lady who did mine gave me some awesome tips on how to do it the right way. You'll be ok!

Re: Girls who wear glasses all the time...
I wore glasses for about 8 years and got contacts about 4 months before the wedding just so I'd have them for the wedding. I LOVE THEM. I see a million times better than I ever did with glasses. It's amazing!
They're worth trying. It took me about 2 weeks to get used to putting them in and taking them out. People at work were so helpful. They're a lot easier to take out than put in. You do get used to it. You're not touching your eye, but the contact on your eye FWIW.

I wore glasses every day since I was 7. Just do what I did, and get some laser corrective surgery before the wedding.

Re: Girls who wear glasses all the time...
I wear glasses all the time. I only take them off for showers and sleeping. I would feel naked without my glasses. I also can't put anything in my eyes. My eyes water up with just putting mascara on!
I won't wear my glasses for ceremony or pics but I will have them at my table during the reception to put them on.
