I'm gonna ask my FH when he gets home, but our GPS was still there....thank god.
BTW, I read your post....$5 tip for valet....dang your generous LOL. Or i'm just cheap, lol. I usually give $2 or so

I didnt valet.. FH dropped me off and picked me up but Im really sorry they did that.. how ridiculous!

eta - when I do valet my car I tip before I leave.. but $5 is a really good tip!

I unfortunately learned the hard way with valet parking. My brand new IPod touch was stolen out of my car by one of the valets at my old job. I had to valet park my car every day because the company did not account for the amount of parking spaces in the garage and if you arrived after a certain time, there weren't any spaces left. I worked at an investment bank so a lot of the traders get in earlier than most employees, so by 8:45am, the parking lot was full.

I specifically knew that no one other than myself had been in the car (and I had used my IPOD two days before), so I knew it happened while I was at work. I filed a complaint, raised hell. Luckily, FH still had the receipt (b/c he purchased it for me as a present) and I submitted that along with my compliant and was reimbused in full.

I now lock anything on value in my glove compartment and always give the valet, the valet key.
