how did you go about sending out your B list invites?
our RSVP date is on saturday and we're still kinda short, and word of mouth is there are very few yes's coming our way. so FH keeps asking me how we're going to send out our B list... I didn't even know we had a B list. I mean, there are a few people from my dance studio I'd love to invite... and he has some co-workers... but they all know that the invites went out and that they weren't on the original list.
so how do we invite them?

Re: girls with a B list
I'd send them out sooner than later, since your RSVP date is so close, and honestly I might even tell them beforehand - 'We have a tight budget, so we needed to watch our guest list, but right now we're in a good place with the numbers and if you're able to make it, we'd love to have you!'
I used this with a few people and they all understood. One couple said that they could make it, the other said no - so if they can and want to come, they will and if not, then at least you did extend the invite.

Re: girls with a B list
Well I had a B list but at the 3 week before our RSVP deadline, I got 0 no's so I bit the bullet and sent out the invitations anyway because they were people I really did want to invite. As a result, we're having more guests than I originally anticipated.

I'd just ask them, especially since they know they weren't on the original guest list. Just say 'We have some space and we'd like for you to come..'

Re: girls with a B list
I sent out my B-list with 4 weeks to respond, where my A-list had 8.

Re: girls with a B list
In a completely ghetto fashion I made up new RSVP cards. I just went to ACMoore, bought a package of 10 cards with matching envelopes and sent them out with the invitation.

Re: girls with a B list
I had more cancellations than expected so had to add about 6 more people to the invite list.
Since my RSVP date already passed (9/1), I decided to revise my RSVP cards (changed it to 9/21 instead of 9/1) and simply computer printed new labels and dropped them off in the mail earlier this week. If we are still under, I plan to just verbally ask people a few close co-workers if they want to come.

Agreed. I called and asked a few people before actually sending out the invites. If they were interested, I told them don't bother with the RSVP, I'll put you down as yes and send you an invite so you have all the info.

Re: girls with a B list
THis is a great question. We did not have a B list and now we are short by 10 people for our minimum. We are going to try and use 6 of those for vendors and for the other 4 just ask them to wrap the extra meals up and FH and I will take them home and eat them the next day. If I did extend an invite to someone, I'd probably just do it verbally and tell them they didn't have to bring a gift.
