girls with custom wedding bands ...

ok, so I am having my wedding band custom made. I went to have a wax made and I saw the wax but it really didnt look anything like a wedding band or even what I visioned in my head (the purple thing, first step in the process)

so 4 weeks later, they still hadnt called me to come in and see what I thought would be a mold (the pinkish red thing that looks exactly like your ring).

so my wedding is in 1 month, I just called to see whats going on b/c I dont want to run into any time problems. He said 'you can come in tomorrow and pick up your band, its done'

WHAT???? I never saw a mold, how do I know that its what I want??? Is this normal? Shouldnt I see the ring before they make it? Im freaking, what if I hate it?

What is the normal process for a custom band?

I didn't go through any of those steps at all. Mine is custom BUT it is eternity so I picked from sample settings and then we chose the diamonds.

I am sure you are going to LOVE it.

I wouldnt be worried except for that fact that this is totally a custom design, bookend bands with a slight curve, also round diamonds when my ering is princess and i have to add detail to my ering to match the bands... its just a lot... I didnt know if I would like the round - wanted to have the option to switch to princess if I didnt like it ... ugh

where are you getting yours made? when i got mine, the first step was the purple wax/mold, 2nd step was approving the diamonds in the mold, 3rd step was approving the actual setting (sans diamonds) then the 4th step was approving and picking up the finished product. you definitely should have done more than just approve the wax if you are having diamonds in the band.

same here. I told him the Michael B collection at michael c fina, he showed me what he had and said he'd make it slightly thinner. I never saw a mold or anything, and mine came out great.

I went for the wax and then I saw the ring and the diamonds they were using and then we went back to make sure it fit. It is just waiting for me to pick it up(and pay the balance)
