Just curious about what tux did your FH choose/get? If we are wearing ivory, shouldn't they wear an ivory shirt instead of white? Thanks

I've spoken to both my photographer and the tuxedo salon about this and both agree it is not necessary to wear ivory shirts. It is important to have ivory ties and vests. My FH tried it on and it looks great. The only part of the shirt you see is the tip and you really can't tell the difference between the color of the shirt and vest/tie. HTH

Thanks ladies FH is not the problem..I was wondering about the groomsmen..Fh and I wanted them to wear silver vests and ties b/c it will match nicer with the girls dresses than black. BUT, the people at the tux place said not to wear silver with an ivory shirt..so do they wear a white shirt since your not really seeing much of the shirt anyway??

We chose ivory shirts. You couldn't even tell the difference.

BTW: My FH is in silver vest and the guys are in platinum and FH tried ivory shirt on with both and it looked perfect. Once the ivory shirt is on, you can't tell the difference at all. HTH.

The guys are in white shirts and silver/gray ties and vests.

It's one of those things that didn't matter to me.

DH ended up with white shirt & white vest....this we went back and forth on SEVERAL times....

Like what's posted above...bring in a color swatch of your dress. My dress color clearly is Ivory, but the Ivory shirts were more 'yellowy' than my dress. White worked out perfect.

I wanted ivory... but the ivory at After Hours was very yellowish and the silver vest/tie combo did not look nice on it...which is what we want FH to have. My dress is ivory, but much closer to white than the After Hours ivory. I will bring a swatch after my fitting... hopefully it will look okay with the white!

This is an age old question -- you can search the boards on this and find a lot of responses.

My reaction is -- it doesn't matter what color shirt your FI wears. I wore and ivory gown (and a dark ivory at that) and FI wore white -- know one knew and you can't tell in the photographs at all.
