Girls with May showers...

If you know about your shower, are you finding that there's more people saying no because of communions/cofirmations?

We just had our first rsvp's back and already 3 no's: 2 due to communions... Kinda ***** because I changed the original date which was the last weekend in April

Sorry, but I was just wondering if thats early for an August wedding. I thought the norm would be June for an August wedding?


Could you switch the date if you find that a lot of people who you really want there cant make it?

Some reason I chose 3 months before... the norm is 1-3 i think... I believe it was bc I wanted it as close to mothers day as possible bc FMIL would be coming in from FL and she would only come up for 1 or the other...

The people who couldnt make it arent really super close to us so its not a huge deal.... Just something I really didnt think about.... I would never change it... I'd rather have the more important people there anyways... And those people knew the date way before the invites went out

Oh okay... I feel like I have been clueless as to wedding stuff unless someone on this site told me about it lol

Yea, if your FMIL can make it and people who really matter, than thats all that counts.... hopefully the people who you have invited and can't make it- they can still try to send you a gift anyway lol

Haha I wont hold my breath on the gift giving part But you better get to picking a date girl! No wonder why you asked about ym date.... you're a month earlier than me! That would def have had me freakin out too LOL but tust me, 3 months before isnt too common.... esp since we have to spend $$ every month on a storage place bc we have no room for it all right now

I say if its just a few people don't worry about it. Darn communions and graduations...don't people know there are 'pre' wedding events that take precedence.

I would like to think my wedding is on everyone's priority list (wouldnt we all), but unfortunately is not lol That being said, whyyy in the world are communions being held May 2nd? Arent they usually mid-month And i remember i was trying to avoid June bc of the graduations .... people with august weddings get a bit screwed since may and june are such active months

my friend got married Aug 12 and did a reallly close shower. Her mom threw it for her in July.

yeah, with the bachelor/ette parties and finalizing all vendor details .... i wouldnt want it anywhere near july.... june would have been more ideal i suppose... oh wells, we'll see how it all turns out

this might be a problem with my wedding!!! two of my cousins can't come b/c of their college graduations and i already know some people cant b/c of communions. def $ucks.
