Give me your opinion...

Give me your opinion...

I was having an interesting discussion with FH regarding our OOT guests. We had different viewpoints so let me see what your girls think!

If you were invited to a Sunday wedding on a regular weekend, (not a Holiday weekend - meaning work on Monday), what time would you prefer to go to the wedding, especially if you were OOT?

In all scenerios, the ceremony, CH & reception would all be back to back...

12:00-5:30
2:30-8:00
6:30 - 12:00

TIA!!

I think if I were OOT regardless of the time, I would be taking off Monday.

I replied 12-5:30. That way there is time to get home at a decent hour and unwind a little. Mine is that time! The think that sux about it is how early I will have to get up because we are doing pics before.

agreed- this is more of an issue for the non-OTT

but 12pm isn't that bad- but people might not stay till the end

I think 12:30 to 5:30 pm is very good.

I voted 12-5:30. This way I'd have plenty of time to get back home and unwind a lil.

I like 2:30 - 8:00...you can still party afterwards if you want to take the next day off, but you don't have to feel like you are missing the party if you need to leave.

A few weddings my FH and I have had to leave early because he's had to go to work (midnights). And it's always sad leaving....

I voted for 2:30-8, but in reality I am forcing my guests to stay until midnight..

but like someone said, if I were OOT, I'd be off Monday.

Andreia are the OOT guest staying over night or going home???

If I was going home and lets say i lived in NJ and I had children or something I would want it to end at 5:30.

However being 23 and unmarried I wouldn't care what time it ended but 8pm would be best!

Is cost of reverence for you?

If so, obviously Sunday Night is cheaper - so I'd do that.

otherwise, IMHO 12 is REALLY early - especially when worrying about TRAFFIC! You have to wake up at the @sscrack of dawn!

I voted 2:30 - happy medium!

Re: Give me your opinion...

I'm having a Sunday evening wedding. Monday is a holiday, but I know that most of our guests do not have it off, since it is just Columbus Day. Our ceremony is at 3 PM, reception 7-12. My OOT guests are taking Monday off simply because the wedding is on Sunday and they need Monday to travel back to Florida, Virginia, Arizona, Nevada, California, Massachussets, and Ohio. My local guests are the ones I'm worried about. All of the people from both our jobs have to work the next day, as well as all our friends that live here. The people that don't have to go to work are retired friends of our parents that probably won't stay until the end anyway.

I don't know if that helps, but for what it's worth, that's my two cents.
