I was having an interesting discussion with FH regarding our OOT guests. We had different viewpoints so let me see what your girls think!
If you were invited to a Sunday wedding on a regular weekend, (not a Holiday weekend - meaning work on Monday), what time would you prefer to go to the wedding, especially if you were OOT?
In all scenerios, the ceremony, CH & reception would all be back to back...
12:00-5:30 2:30-8:00 6:30 - 12:00
TIA!!

I voted 12-5:30. This way I'd have plenty of time to get back home and unwind a lil.
I agree...I know that there are certain times of the year that I cannot take days off...so if I had a wedding Sunday I would much rather it be in the daytime that way I had time to come home and unwind...

Re: Give me your opinion...
If I was an OOT guess I too would take the day off, but for your other guest who live the area and mostly likely going to work on Monday, I would suggest calling it quits early, no later than 10pm.

I personally would take off work the next day. But some people just can't, so I would go for the earlier times if I were you! (IMHO!)

Whenever I have a late night Sunday wedding with work the next day..we always leave early! so, dont make it too late. I voted for the earliest time!

Re: Give me your opinion...
We're having Sunday and want the 12-5:30 but not because of our guests but because we want to enjoy our entire first day of being married and if it ends earlier, maybe we won't be falling asleep as we leave! Basically want the day to last as long as we do!

I think if I were OOT regardless of the time, I would be taking off Monday.
Same here, so it really wouldnt matter what time it was.

I voted for the early one. I'd probably fly or drive in the day before, so I'd be there for the wedding and then I'd be able to leave at 5:30 and go home. It's not easy for everyone to take a day off

I voted for 2:30 - 8. It's a happy medium, you won't have to get up as early, and everyone still has time to get home even if they leave an hour early.
We're having ours on a Sunday also, and ours is from 4:30 - 10. All of our OOT guests are taking off the next day except for those than can drive home (NH, Boston, West Point).

I voted for 2:30 to 8...beginning at 12:30 would be too early for me!!
We are having a Sunday wedding from 4 to 10PM. FH is from upstate NY and 99% of his guests are making a long weekend out of it and taking Monday off. I wouldn't worry too much about guests taking the day off or leaving early...the same people (older guests) will leave early no matter what day it is, and most people end up taking Friday off as an OOT guest on a Saturday...I know I do!
