Giveaways-Poll

I am undecided about giving out giveaways (glow necklaces, maracas, etc) at my wedding. We are having a band and my friend says I shouldn't do giveaways. What do you think? Is it outdated?

I am doing them. But no glow necklaces or anything that glows. Just some fun maracas and sunglasses and lei's. I think they are fun!

Of course, giveaways are cool and fun. I am giving away lotto tickets, and loads of stuff from the DJ.

I didn't do giva-aways..but I'm not totally against them. It depends on the croud. I think if your having a night wedding that has a fun-loving atmosphere, then why not! During the day, it just seemed wierd (ours ended at 5:30pm)

I was never a fan of giveaways.

A good DJ will keep the party pumping without having to worry about giveaways.

I think it depens on the party style you want. I think it definitely takes away from the elegance anc lass factor in my opinion. I'd never do them. It seems like a kid's birthday party to me, but if you're having a more casual wedding, then go for it

I do not think that this is true. I had a very very elegant wedding and had the DJ give out giveaways because I knew that everyone would think that they were fun. I do not think that one of my guests thought that my wedding was like a kid's party because I had giveaways.

There are always people (obviously

) on both sides of the issue, but these are the standard arguments for and against. I didn't have giveaways, but it was a tough decision! My wedding was still very fun - all my guests were on the dancefloor the whole day. I've been to weddings that did have give aways and at the time I never thought that it was a less classy affair because of it.
