Giving Final Head Count

Giving Final Head Count

Should I tell them less then the number I have? Right now I have 122 and my minimum is 100 so I am fine for that. I was thinking of telling them 118 or 120. What should I do? How many people generally do not show up on the day of?? I have a couple days to get this together, but she already sent the fianl proposal with the wrong # so I need to correct that today.

this may be a dumb question - but if you give them less than the number and more people show up, do you have to pay for them? and do you pay for them that day?

I'm sure they will make you pay for those people...just don't know if they will bill you later or ask you for it that day....different halls might do it differently so you might want to ask yours.

Yes. you have to pay for everyone that shows up. But a lot of times people cancel at last minute after you have given the hall your final count and you can not get that money back.

well at my sisters wedding....6 ppl bailed out last min....2 ppl from her school....and 4 that was a family!

but she gave 4 less....so now she only got screwed out of 2....but still that was over 150 a head...so thats 300$ she would of lost...luckily she had a few ppl come who said they cant....so it all worked out!!

if ppl come that day and you tell the hall and yes you have too tell them bc then they wont have a place setting...when you tell them they will charge you the same day...i think thats what i was told at the end of the night we have to pay it up.

this is always a toughie. re-arranging the tables at the last minute & putting more place settings can be rough on the hall, but on the other hand you do not want to have to pay for people who did not show.

we were honest about our final head count, but we got burned by 4 plates.

We lied at my sister's... we took 10 people off the list, 4 from each of the family tables and 2 from the bridal table, these way it was easy to keep track of.... she had 6 people bail, all for good reasons like in the 2 days before. My mom called that morning with the changes and everything was fine

I know they set up the tables the day of, so I am not that worried about that. I know it's a little trouble for them, but since they want to make the policy that you can't change your number then they are asking for that.

We gave our head count today. We gave them 2 people less - and if we have over - we will pay for them that day. I was a little nervous about going to many under because the CH asked for a list to be turned in on Wednesday with the names and table numbers of the guests - i.e. maybe checking the count - maybe I am just to paranoid! We'll see what happens!
