Has anyone done this before. I am doing glass etching on my vases using our monogram. However i need to know what kind of material did you use for your stencil. I wanted to use some sort of vinyl that way when i rinse off the etching cream i can re-use it. the onloy thing is, the vinyl seems so hard to cut. any suggestions?

Re: Glass Etching
Stick on vinyl is not re-usable. At least, not the kind we use. DH cuts it with an X-acto knife. It isn't thick, it's like a sticker.

Re: Glass Etching
I tried to do my own glass etching (our names and wedding date) and it did not work out well. I tried the cream AND the little can of sand that blasts.
Nothing came out good. I found that the 'reusable' stencils actually rip and bend so they aren't really reusable after all.
Also, the etching did not come out with clean lines.
I tried REALLY hard and I'm I'm pretty crafty- so I felt like if I couldn't do it even decently- it was a pretty bad product. (I also made like 4 attempts!)
I think it would work better for a floral type design than for lettering because the unclear edges would be less of a problem but I would never bother trying again!
