Some of you saw my engagement pics when I posted the link... but it just dawned on me after looking at them again..
The photographer asked me to take them w/out my glasses b/c they are transition lenses and since we were outside, I was wearing dark 'sunglasses'
Here lies the issue... We're getting married in Aug, in a Garden!! Helloooooooooo Sunglasses!
I have never worn contacts and personally not sure if I really want to b/c I am afraid I'm not gonna be able to 'keep up' with them (i.e. fall asleep with them in, remember to get a new perscription when I run out, have time in the morning to put them in as I'm rushing to the train, etc...) Also, I was told they can be costly and as we all know saving $ right now is a priority.
Lasik is too expensive right now and I've heard stories that basically scared me out of it.
So... Do I just not wear glasses and truly pray I do not fall down the aisle? Also all the outside wedding pics will have me w/out my glasses. All though I look similar, I have worn glasses since 5th grade and well...that's 'me'!
Any other suggestions or ideas? Thanks for any insight you can give.

Re: Glasses or not?
If you really dont want contacts, why not just get a cheap set of lense's to put into your glasses for the day of your wedding that dont have transitions. You would be surprised how many people do that, its not uncommon.
My preference though, is contact lense's...I have been wearing them since I was 15 and have a TERRIBLE fear of anything to do with my eyes. I always tell my patients that if I could do it, then they can too. I also work in a contact lense practitioners office, since I was 15 (8 years and counting) so i am pretty knowledgeable when it comes to contacts...We also have an optician there who carries a huge array of glasses/sunglasses. Any questions you have about contacts just let me know and I will be happy to answer them for you!!

I think you should wear glasses. From what I read, it seems to be that is what you are most comfortable with. If anything, why not purchase a special pair for your wedding? Tiffany and Co has STUNNING elegant frames. I actually purchased a pair for my mother, my friend just purchased these SUPER amazing ones from them, and I actually just got a pair too (although I only need them for distance). I have seen a pair that are rimless, with a thin, narrow temple encrusted in Swavorski crystals. Its super super elegant. I work in designer eyewear and sunglasses, so if you need help, let me know. Just FM me :)

I wore my glasses for our epics.
I like Gabby's idea of getting a second pair w/out transitions.
Good Luck!!

Re: Glasses or not?
You can go to a discount place to get a second pair of glasses. FH got his glasses there a year ago and they were great. They scan your original glasses to get the prescription and then you pick from all the different lenses they have. They're ready in 1-2 weeks (if I remember correctly) and they only cost around $40 because you don't have to pay for an eye exam, etc. You can go to factoryeyeglassoutlet.com for more information about it, but he loved it!!! Hope it helps.

Re: Glasses or not?
I totally agree with the second pair of lenses idea. Since you feel the most comfortable with glasses, that's what I would do if i were you

Re: Glasses or not?
I'm wearing mine. I have worn glasses for a very long time too and would definitely not feel like myself. A second pair is a great idea. I think you should do whatever makes you feel the most comfortable.

Also - contacts are cheaper than glasses most of the time - you could ask your doc to order u one box of contacts - if u want - its around $20 the ones I get...

Re: Glasses or not?
i would either go with a new pair of glasses or just wear contacts for the day of. your doctor may even give you a sample pair and then you dont even have to buy them.

I agree. I also wear glasses but I plan to get contacts. I'm not a fan of contacts either, but I don't want to have to keep taking my glasses off to take pictures.
Why don't you talk to your eye doctor and try some sample contacts and see how you do with them.?

I agree with everyone else. What you can do also is take some pictures with the glasses and some pictures without glasses.

Re: Glasses or not?
Why dont you get lenses without transitions for the day of so they don't turn dark while you are outside??
FH wears glasses and has been weareing them since he's 7.. he will be wearing them for the wedding because that is him!!
