Glen Cove Mansion

Hello out there...I only see a few reviews of this location, has anyone else been? How was the food? I went to Desversky's today and liked it but was wondering how it compared to GCM. Any feedback would be appreciated - I am new to this, just signed up today. Thank you!!

Re: Glen Cove Mansion

Welcome and Congrats. I have seen the GCM aka the Garrison House and thought it was nice. The outside was beautiful and the inside was OK. When I went to visit them, a party was going on so it was hectic. The rooms were nice but dont remember exactly how to describe them bec like I said there was a party going on so I only got to peak inside. Here are the prices they gave me.

Peak: May-Oct
$195 per person for a Saturay
$165 pp for a Friday and Sunday

Off Peak:: Nov-March
$165 pp on a Sat
$135 pp on a Fri and Sunday

They give alot on the menu and a room to stay I believe. If you are interested you should go visit them yourself and see if you like it. HTH

I've been to some corporate retreats at GCM and the food was very good (much better than I was expecting). The dining room is very nice (that's where they do the receptions) and the grounds are just beautiful and would give you some great spots for picture taking. The hotel rooms are also very nice and your guests would have plenty to do with the bowling alley and fitness center and pub. it's definitely worth looking at, particularly if you have a fair number of OOT guests.

Re: Glen Cove Mansion

Hi! My best friend got married there Mar '06 on a Sat. nite. The place was beautiul and the food was great. We all stayed in the hotel after the wedding. Rooms were very clean and they were large. What's cool is they have a lounge that you can go to on the 3rd floor with pool tables, darts, etc. for a laid back afterparty. It's open until 3am. They have a pool and a bowling alley!! They also provided a continental style breakfast the next morning. Her suite was pretty good. 2 bathrooms and a fairly large living space. But beware!!!! The only caveat I will give is the management staff. They went through THREE banquet managers in 3 months!! Alot of the things that were supposed to be included in her package were not! She had to beg for some of the things she was paying for! Also, we think her Bridal Attendant was high on coke. I swear! She was no help at all or she was all over her. Quite strange! So I recommend if you book there you read the contract EXTREMLY carefully. All in all it was a great time!! Good luck!

Good Morning, (or night in England right now). This is my first post but being I messed up my time zones I have some time to finally reply after all the help I've gotten. I am getting married at GCM, I'd be more than happy to share my experience if you'd like send me an FM.

If you do book there I do agree that you should carefully watch the wording in your contract.
