Anyone ever been? Going to check out the venue this weekend. Grounds look beautiful & I love that there are accomedations on site for all our out of town guests. Really curious about food reviews. Any overall insight would be super helpful! Thanks ladies!

We were excited to see it, but I was surprised and disappointed at how dated, unkept, and dusty it seemed.

I went to a wedding there about a year and a half ago. It was nice enough, the food was okay, the service was fine, but there wasn't necessarily anything that stood out to me as exceptional, especially considering the price.

so sorry to hear that you were disappointed!!

may I suggest to ask the halls you visit for a list of near by hotels? Most of them will offer a group rate for the guest who book for your wedding, and some will provide a shuttle to and from the venue for your guests.

My venue/hotel accommodations did not offer that, but we provided the transportation for our guests through our limo service.

Good Luck finding the perfect venue!!! Please contact me once you have for all of your invitation and save the date needs!!

I've never been inside but I used to work in Glen Cove and every time I passed it I would want to stop and go in! It looks BEAUTIFUL! However, I did hear from others that have been that it is a bit dated.

def true according to FH who stayed there after a wedding before we were dating so 3 years ago, I'm sure it hasn't gotten any better... might look nice outside but very meh inside... he didn't even want to look there for our wedding.

We went there to look at when searching for a venue. It's really impressive from the outside and the grounds are beautiful. I loved that the hotel was there and there's a bar upstairs that you can hold an after party at. Most of the venues I went to visit were old mansions and GC mansion was the only one that was stuffy and musty. I was willing to look past it, but the ballroom is a really odd shape. They told us their max capacity was 250 (we had 200 people), but it was really hard to envision that many people in there. It just wasn't worth the money and there were better options elsewhere. That's just my opinion though.
