Gloves during the ceremony

I will be wearing elbow length gloves for the ceremony. I dislike the fingerless ones and when you just slip your finger out of the glove during the ring exchange. I want to wear full gloves. When would I take them off? Sometime subtly during the ceremony? Then do I put them back on? Anyone have any ideas on this?

Re: Gloves during the ceremony

I had above th eelbow gloves, and the priest will announce the exchange of the rings. That is when I took the glove off. I dont lik ethe fingerless gloves either, nor do I like cutting a slit in the ring finger. I just took the glove off, and gave it to my MOH.
I put the glove back on when the ceremony was over.

Re: Gloves during the ceremony

I was at a wedding in April where the Bride wore gloves to the elbow. She took both of them off right before the exchange of rings began, and she didn't put them back on until after she left the church (for photos).

I wore a fingerless glove myself (where the string went over the middle finger), which matched my dress. I kept them on through most of the reception (and considering I didn't even want to wear gloves at all, that even surprised me!).

Re: Gloves during the ceremony

I have gloves too but I hate the slit in the finger. I tried it last week and it felt very uncomfortable. You are suppose to remove your gloves when you hand your bouquet to the MOH during the ceremony but I also think that is ackward. I might not wear them at all- just for some photos.

Re: Gloves during the ceremony

Since we are having a full mass, I', thinking of subtly taking them off right after the homily and before the vows. Then I'll hand my bouquet and gloves to my MOH. After when she gives me back my bouqeut and gloves I will put them back on while everyone walks to communion. Hopefully it won't be that noticeable. Is my MOH supposed to hold my bouquet till the end of the ceremony or does she give it back after vows???

Re: Gloves during the ceremony

Your bouquet is held until after the ceremony is completed. You get it back right before you start your walk UP the aisle.
