Not at all. Ever hear of Sweet Karma? I've gotten some e-mails from them and they have gluten free cakes. They are located in East Meadow. How long have you been diagnosed?

However...does it matter how far your baker is from your RH?

Yea. I eat it a lot. Pretty much all of it except the bread since it can be so expensive. I just ate a gluten free brownie from Trader Joe's. Soooooo Goooood! Beats regular brownies. We make our own pizzas and I've started to bake some breads. Some things are horrible. Some stuff is really good.

I just have an idea. What if you request that the top tier be GF and the rest normal for all the guests, or maybe you already thought of that. I am sure a bakery will figure it out if you do request it.

Here is a site i found of a baker who does gluten free/wheat free cakes, who covers multiple states including NY...
my sister has celiac. i got her birthday cake from baby cakes nyc. it came out to $70 for a an 8inch round cake. so you may want to get just the top tier glutten free.

The concern I have for that is with cross contamination. I am not sure how they put together cakes and there may be items in the middle but I would still be concerned. Also, that means the frosting/fondant which would be on all portions of the cake would have to be gluten free. I guess it's just about finding the right place.

don't forget to ask your hall if you are alloweed to bring in outside food. i know with my hall, i am not alloweed to bring in outside food & i have to use a bakery they specified.
