QOTD: Who does the bills in your house (sorry if this is a repeat)
In our house it is totally me. I do it all online every month (I don't mind at all), but if it was left up to him, we'd probably be months behind w/ certain bills.

This is a great question. This was one thing that FH and I didn't agree upon and hadn't straightened out until recently. He has also paid bills beyond the due date. We are totally different that way. I am neurotic about paying my bills on time and have all kinds of spreadsheets about what I make, how much I pay out and for what, keep all my receipts in binders, etc.. Then, he tells me that he does not want to merge accounts when we get married, he wants to keep our direct deposit accounts separate and have a joint savings account. That's how his parents do it. Well, my parents share every account and have all the same money and my mom pays the bills. FH was assuming that I would control the finances and pay the bills, having access to all our accounts but still keeping them separate. I got upset over this and basically told him that if he wants to keep everything separate that he is going to be responsible for paying the bills he has been paying and I will be responsible for the ones that I have been paying. We will split responsibility for the new bills that we get when we get an apartment. This is not what I really wanted but I feel relieved knowing that I won't have to be solely responsible for balancing the finances and making sure the bills are paid. He will have to learn to be responsible about paying them on time and I have faith that he will, once he gets used to it. Sorry for writing a book!!

Paying the bills is something that I do! FH is very confident with me handling the checkbook bc he knows that is what I do everyday at work! We are much better off with me doing it so that there are no missed payments!!!

We don't have our house yet, but it has already been decided that I will do ALL the bills. FH tends to forget to pay his on time plus the mortgage will be in my name, so I want to be in charge of it!

Im in charge of this department. Im a freak for organization, so if I let him pay all the bills, not only will they be late..my checkbook wouldn't be balanced and our checks would bounce like basketballs.

Good Morning!!!!
FH pays the things for the house (mortgage, insurance, utilities, his cars, etc).
I pay for my own car, insurance, and cell phone.
When we get married, he's doing it all!

Good Morning Brides!!
We split the bills pretty evenly. I pay for mine and he pays for his. He gives me $$ for his half of the rent. Then he pays for our cable and electric. I do the food shopping and pay for that on my CC so I pay our 'food bill'. I like it this way!!

He just started having his check deposited into my account. He's bad with paying bills so now I pay all the bills. I don't mind, I pay most of them online anyway.

I handle anything financial. It works out much better this way... he stresses too much about money!
