Plus I find it terribly ironic that every Yankee fan on here is all of a sudden a Cards fan.

It wasn't too long ago when I heard the typical Yankee fan say 'Well... why are you rooting against the yanks... if it were the other way around... i'd be rooting for the Mets.'

I really have no preference as to who wins the WS this year. But, as usual, I am sitting in front of the TV watching it. Hoping to see some good baseball. Cards made a nice comeback so far in this game.

P.S. I think Felicia has a secret crush on Johnny Damon but does not want it to be obvious. Hence her supposed 'hatred' of the Sox.

A) I have NEVER said that I would root for the mets. I never would. End of story.
B) It's not like I all of a sudden decided that I am a Cardinals 'fan', I just don't think that the Sux fans should be so confident already and would find it terribly humorous if they lose the series.
C) I am embarrassed by my team and do not condone the fact that Steinbrenner thinks they can buy a victory. I've been a Yankee fan since I was a small child and have seen my fair share of the Yankees sucking, and no, I have not changed loyalty.
D) Lastly, well, I was going to type something here, but I'm tired and I forgot what I was going to say

I am rooting for the Sox for two reasons.

Number 1... because I know tons of Yankee fans that are rooting against Boston cause they know they will have to eat more 'crow' if boston wins.

Number 2... the bigger reason I am rooting for the Sox is because I have been a long time NY Rangers hockey fan. I know what curses are all about... and how good it feels to eliminate one. If the Cubs were in the WS... I would be rooting for them as well.

I am rooting for the Cardinals because I just hate the red sox, not because they beat the Yankees, but I have always hated them!!
Honestly, If it were the Mets playing the red sox, I'd be rooting for the Mets. I love baseball, in general. Although I am a Yankee fan, I still watch whatever game is on TV during the regular season. And seriously, I have been to more Met games in my life than Yankee games!!
So, don't question my loyalty please, I am a loyal Yankee fan, but hey, they are not here, so I have to pick someone to root for!!!
As for the history they made last week, losing after being up three, oh well, the Yankees have a lot of history, some bad, this being one of them, but a heck of a lot more good, if you look at their record.

DITTO on all counts!!!

Esp. #1 ... (that's esp. for Don, Dj & DMAG). IF that fateful day ever comes that the Mets are back in the WS, I wouldn't just root for them because they are the NY team. I am not a Mets fan - never was , never will be.

You all know I am not a 'fan' of any team aside from the Yankees. I could care less if the Card win, quite honestyl. Honest to God I could care LESS who wins this WS in general. But I do love baseball , so I have a passing interest in the WS.

The bottom line being, of course I would love to see the Sox lose. I think that any true Yankee fan could not, in their right mind, root FOR THE SOX just because they are the AL team. Yankee and Sox fans grow up hating one another - that's just the way it is.

Just like I doubt that a Mets fan could, in their right mind, root for the Braves (well unless they were playing the Yankees.. I suppose you would still wish for the Braves to win

My point being -- even if what just happened between the Yankees and RedSox did not occcur .. I'd STILL hope that the Sox lost. They are the one and only team in professional baseball that I NEVER want to see win.

And yes, if the Mets and Sox ever faced one another again ... I'd slightly favor the Mets. Woudn't 'root' for them' But would still want the Sox to lose.

i think it will be in the long time before the mets are in the world series, so i don't think you'll have the chance to root against them

let's concentrate on finishing at 500 and possibly making the playoffs

sorry everyone but I am rooting for the redsoxs. I like the cardinals too but i just want to see them win the redsoxs.
