With all the worries over the past few days of money and making the wedding smaller, my FFIL just told FH that he will take care of rehearsal dinner. ONE LESS THING TO WORRY ABOUT!!!!!!!

Can I ask a dumb question? What's the point of the rehearsal dinner? I'd never been to one until my ex's brother got married several years ago and I was totally shocked at the soiree it turned out to be!! I had no idea. I mean, it was a great party but why do you throw a party right before THE party, if you know what I mean
And, since I've heard that the groom's parents traditionally host it -- I guess I ain't havin' one!! LOL
