My parents and I just emitted my sister for sniffing heroin today. She's been doing it since September. I knew something was going on with her but its so hard for me to tell when I don't live at home anymore. I have been living with my FH for almost 3 years so I am not able to be there for her every waking minute. She is only 19 years old, she's a baby. This is such a hard time for her right now as she is in detox and I can't be there. The reason why I am sharing this all with you is because I need some advice on how to deal with this???? Has anyone been in a similiar situation? I am so mad, sad, scared, disappointed.... Also, if you know of anyone that is in trouble with any kind of drugs, tell their parents or loved ones!!!!!! Not one of my sisters friends came to me or my parents to tell her that she is in over her head and that if she doesn't get help she is going to die!! Of course these kids aren't her friends cause if they were they would of turned her in a long time ago. Drugs seem to be taking over so many young peoples lives... Please God, give my sister strength to pull through this

Meghan I can totally relate to what you & your family are going through, my brother has a drug problem too. It's a tough time in your sister's life just be there for moral support & to help out. That's all you can do. If you need anything or you just want to talk. Please let me know. -Mariah
Thank you, I hope your brother can overcome this horrible disease.

Re: God Give My Sister Strength
I have never dealt with heroin addiction, but many people in my family are recovered, recovering, or active alcoholics. The best advice is to seek out support from others who have been through it. I would contact local AA or NA or al-anon groups to see about that.
Also you must remember that none of this is your fault! I know it is hard but you must detach to a certain extent because your sister will be clean and sober only when she is ready, regardless of what anyone else says or does. Hopefully she is ready now.
My prayers are with you and your family.
Please fm if you need to talk at all
