Goddammit

FH works for a Nursing home, in the kitchen, cooking...

TONIGHT, as we were leaving to go out to dinner, the Head dude called, and spoke to FH(I listened on the other phone) and Said, we are going to have to let you go immediately. Fh asked, whats the reason? What did I do wrong? He said, I just want to cut out our differences, and let you go. Sorry to do this by the phone.

So FH said, thats really low, and really rude of you to do, cannot even talk to me man-to-man, and at 6PM on a Holiday Weekend...I cannot even call unemployment until TUesday....the guy just said, GOodbye


man Oh Man what I would love to do to this guy.........

The good thing, FH can come to LI for the weekend...

OMG, that is just horrible. I am so sorry for you both!!

FH went to college for culinary/hotel restaurant management, and nobody wants to pay ANYTHING....so working at the nursing homes and assisted livcing homes, made a decent paycheck...

FH actually likes it, he has a real passion for the elderly, and a great respect for them...

But, its back to the drawing board....with a wedding less than 5 months away

My fh loves to cool (thankfully) but he just couldn't take how horrible they treat the employee's...
that is really nice that he is so understanding with that population...it is difficult sometimes

My sister's new husband does the same thing. He is a chef for Sunrise Assisted Living. And my sister works in activities at the same place!

That is too bad for your FH but maybe something better will come along now!

from one chef to another.......hmmmm the things that we COULD do....tell him to move up here to maine........tons of work..

What did he mean (or did your FH know what the boss meant) by 'Cut out our differences'...were they at odds?

It could be an unjustified reason to let him go. Your FH is entitled to unemployment and he should ask if they have lawyers that he can talk to to find out if what was done was legally OK to do.

Anyway glad that your FH can come to LI with you. That's a plus
