Re: Going off BCP...

OMGGGGGG...Loestrin 24 made me f*cking PSYCHOOOOO!!! Yaz made me a crying b*tch....a 15lbs heavier b*tch at that

I have come to the conclusion BCP + Me = not in FH's (or the publics) best interest

We tactfully play the pull and pray game I am definitely going to end up 9 months pregnant on my wedding day

Today was my first day of taking Estrostep. I am scared to see what happens...not fun. I hate trial and error. Hopefully, I don't wake up with a big zit lol

I am telling you.... TRY NUVARING!!! I had SO many problems with BCPs in the past... I have ZERO issues with Nuvaring, you can't forget to take it, it's easy to manipulate your cycle, no spotting, no side affects... I LOVE IT!!!

Re: Going off BCP...

i cant recommend any BCP because i have been on about 349579 different ones and NONE work the way they are supposed to. i just finished up my first month of femcon.

THe month before I started femcon, I went off BCP because i was sick of nothing working right and i wanted to see if my body would regulate itself out. It didnt. However, I felt better..like, more cheery & happy....idk how to explain it

I was on Yasmin 28 from 2002 to 2009. I had no problems except that towards the later years I would get bad migraines when I got my period. The migraines were due to the dramatic drop in estrogen. My doc switched me to Mircette which has really helped with the headaches..since you're not taking sugar pills for 7 days but only for 2 followed by 5 days of a little dose of estrogen.

Since you already tried Mircette, maybe try Yasmin. The headaches were the only side effect for me..You may not have them. It's a higher dose than Mircette though.

I'm surprised at how many girls aren't on BCP. I honestly think BCP are one of the greatest inventions ever LOL.

But I can understand not wanting to be on something that gives you side effects. Sometimes you really have to give something time to click with your body. If you get nauseous or bloated the first month, you should really try to give it more time and the side effects will soon go away.

Re: Going off BCP...

personally, I am not one to recommend the bcp. I was on it for many years....last year my leg started hurting for about a week and it turned out I had a blood clot. There was no rhyme or reason for it...I am not a smoker, am fairly active, not obese, and was not on a plane for a long time. The only logical reason (after much testing with drs) was due to the bcp. I was on ortha novum 7-7-7...so personally, I would not recommend the bcp to most people.

I stopped taking mine recently not because we were ttc, but because I had so many issues. I've had issues from the get go though and I've been on so many different kinds from Ortho Tricyclen to Yasmin or whatever it's called and it's always bothered me.

Wow i think im the only one using the IUD Mirena, its b/c i have twin boys already and i don't want any more babies at the moment. Maybe in a few more yrs down the line. I was using Pill but it had too many side effects and i switched to Mirena in Feb of this yr and its been working great ever since. However I wouldn't really recommend it for ppl who haven't had kids yet.

Oh dear... I highly recommend mine, Loestrin 24
Seriously though, I love it. I get my period like once a year. Your body just needs to get used to it.

thats the one i used to take! if i even got aunt flo, it was for like a half of day. it was great. I never took any others, sorry!

I did call my OB and spoke to a nurse who assured me that everything I was experiencing was normal She said spotting is normal within the first few months and even missing a period completely on this type of BCP is extremely normal/common. She definitely put me at ease so I am gonna stick with it a little longer and then we'll see what happens.

See, told you so! Haha... yeah, I just had to get used to it. The first few months that I didn't get my period I was so freaked out I took like 50 preg tests. You will be fine!

I have been on the regular strength Ortrotrycyclen (Tri-Sprintec is the generic) for about 8 years now...love it. Never had anyyy problems whatsoever.

My g/f just went off BCP after about 9 years and switched to the Nuva Ring...she swears by it. My other g/f is using Mirena (the IUD) & loves that.
